"Each year, the Church calls us back to the heart of our identity as disciples—inviting us to reflect on the gifts God has entrusted to us and how we are called to place them at the service of His people. As I prayed about this year’s Catholic Services Appeal, one verse continually rose to the surface: “For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be” (Matthew 6:21).
These words remind us that our mission flows from what we love most. When our hearts are rooted in Christ, His mission becomes our own—to proclaim the Gospel, form disciples, accompany those who suffer, and bring the light of His love throughout southeast Michigan.
God has blessed each of us with time, talents, and resources meant not to be held back, but shared generously. Through faithful stewardship, we participate directly in the Church’s work of evangelization.
The Catholic Services Appeal is an expression of this shared mission, sustaining ministries that form clergy, strengthen families, serve the poor, and renew our parishes. I invite you to prayerfully consider how God is calling you to take part. I am deeply grateful for your faith, generosity, and commitment to Christ’s mission."
