Day 18: The Troubled Heart

“Let not your hearts be troubled.” (John 14:1)

The heart that trusts in God and His promises does not fall into the danger of disturbance. Faith becomes the remedy for anxiety, even when the winds blow and storms rage.

Day 17: The Forgiving Heart

“If each of you does not forgive his brother from his heart...” (Matthew 18:35)

Forgiveness means letting go of a debt, pain, or offense. When offered from the depths of the heart, it opens the door to reconciliation, peace, and God's forgiveness.

Day 16: The Proud Heart

“He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.” (Luke 1:51)

Pride inflates a person and makes them despise everything else, even God's intervention for salvation. The humble heart, like that of the Virgin Mary, accepts God's work and allows its fruits to appear for the good of all.

Day 15: The Humble Heart

“A humble heart reflects on this, but a foolish man reflects on foolishness.” (Sirach 16:23)

The humble heart accepts God's work within it and becomes ready for change. It is through humility that we learn to marvel at God's works and walk the paths of heaven with the hearts of children.

Day 14: The Good Heart

“But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.” (Luke 8:15)

The good heart keeps the word of God, holds fast to it, and bears fruit with patience. It is called to return to the goodness and nobility for which it was created.

Today we entrust all fathers, clergy, and spiritual fathers to your maternal care. May they be strengthened in faith, guided in wisdom, and led ever closer to your Son, Jesus Christ.

Day 13: The Repentant Heart

“Turn to Me with all your heart...” (Joel 2:12)
