G2GY Welcome to Generation 2 Generation Youth! Equipping the next generation for the kingdom!

We consider it a blessing and privilege to serve both you and your children. Please let us know at any time how we can better assist you in the development of your child. Our goal is to provide a well-rounded education to the next generation, equipping them for the work of God’s kingdom. This means giving them a strong Biblical foundation as well as assisting them academically. It is also our goal to provide a safe environment where each child can feel comfortable being who they are in Christ.

Youth Ministry Highlights!

34 Days Until Youth Takeover!

I am so excited that in just over a month, we will come together with our youth to praise God, uplift our youth, and celebrate how He is moving in their lives! This special time will be filled with worship, service, and sharing God’s love as our young people step into their gifts and lead us in faith.

February Recap:
Yesterday, we ended the month with insight, creativity, and a deeper connection to God!

Our young children (ages 4-8) gathered with Sister Joanne to learn about praise and worship. They created and decorated their own tambourines, which they will use to joyfully praise God at the upcoming Youth Takeover!

Our teens had a powerful discussion with Minister M Hockenhull about the meaning of true worship and how we can honor God not just with our voices, but with our hearts and actions. Each teen was assigned a role to help lead our upcoming service.

We closed our time together by watching a video honoring Black History Month. It was truly inspiring!

Mark Your Calendars – March 30!
Let’s continue to pray and prepare as we look forward to this incredible day of youth worship, service, and celebrating God’s goodness! More details to come!

Youth Ministry Sunday Recap 🤗❤️🎉

Yesterday was a day filled with joy, reflection, and acts of love! Tay had the honor of receiving the heartfelt cards our youth created last week for patients at Karmanos who are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy. Seeing their words and creativity poured into something meant to uplift others was truly beautiful. It was a reminder that love isn’t just something we feel but also something we show.

That same spirit carried through the rest of the day. With our 4-8 year olds, we finished additional cards before taking turns reading from the children’s Bible on the story of Noah. We wrapped up by playing a memory match game that connected to the story of Noah, reinforcing God’s faithfulness and how He cares for us.

Elder Carole led our teen young ladies in a meaningful discussion on God’s love, using 1 John 4:7-12 as the foundation. She played songs that expressed God’s deep love for us, and the girls had the chance to write letters to God, thanking Him for whatever was on their hearts.

At the same time, Shawn Lee guided the young men in a conversation about their role in the community and how they can use their God-given gifts to make an impact. They explored what it means to embrace God’s love and identity as young men of faith.

Though each group focused on something different, there was a common thread of understanding and sharing God’s love. Whether through written words of encouragement, diving into scripture, or discussing identity and purpose, every moment reflected how love moves us to action.

It was a truly amazing Sunday, and we are excited for all that’s to come!

🤗Let me tell you how AMAZING 4th Sunday went for Youth Ministry!

We kicked off the day with an energetic Parent & Youth Meeting! Parents, if you missed it—don’t worry! We’ll be sharing a short PowerPoint and recording so you can catch up and stay in the loop about all the exciting things happening with our youth!

👋🏾4-11 Year Olds:
Our younger group spent the morning with Sister Ebony Wilson and Sister Joanne, diving into our 4th Sunday theme: Praise and Worship! They had the opportunity to share their thoughts on what praise and worship means to them and engaged in a meaningful discussion guided by biblical teachings. The session ended with a fun and creative craft that helped bring their learning to life. Thank you, Sister Ebony and Sister Joanne, for your dedication and for making this such a special experience for our youngest group!

😎12-17 Year Olds:
Our teens started their morning in service for praise and worship and then joined Minister M Hockenhull for a powerful roundtable discussion. The teens explored the deeper meanings of praise and worship through biblical teaching, creating a safe space to reflect on their relationship with God and how worship plays a role in their lives. This open dialogue was impactful and inspiring, and we’re so grateful to Minister DSjonaun for leading such an engaging and meaningful session!

A HUGE thank you to Evangelist Sheryl Stevenson for blessing our young people with Motor City Cruise drawstring bags! Truly a generous and thoughtful gift!

And guess what?‼️🤗Next Sunday is going to be just as impactful! The youth will dive into outreach and service, making encouragement cards for patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation at Karmanos. It’s going to be a powerful reminder of how we can show God’s love through service!

We can’t wait to see everyone next week! Bring your energy, your smiles, and your hearts ready to serve!
