Are you searching for peace, purpose, hope, or a fresh start? Jesus Christ is calling you.

No matter where you’ve been or what burdens you’re carrying, God’s love is greater than your past, and His grace is available to you today. The Bible teaches that through faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, and baptism for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38), you can begin a new life in Him and enjoy the abundant life He promised (John 10:10).

At Oakland Church of Christ, we are ready to walk alongside you on your spiritual journey. If you would like to learn more about God’s plan of salvation, study the Bible, or be baptized, we would love to hear from you.

The Bible teaches us to “rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15). Today, we ask the Oakland family and our friends to keep Sister Angela Kent and her family in your prayers as they mourn the passing of her beloved father, Ronald Moore. During seasons of loss, the love, prayers, and support of God’s people provide comfort and strength that words alone cannot express. Please take a moment to review the service information and join us as we surround this family with our love and encouragement. May God grant them peace, comfort, and the assurance that He is near to the brokenhearted.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Clarence Locke, on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Bro. Locke was more than a faithful Christian man. He was a devoted servant of God, a respected elder, a compassionate counselor, and a mentor whose influence reached far beyond the walls of the church. Alongside his beloved wife, Sis. Jerri Locke, he dedicated countless hours to strengthening marriages, encouraging young couples, and guiding young men and women in their walk with God. Together, they opened their hearts, shared their wisdom, and poured themselves into the lives of others.

Clarence exemplified Christian leadership. He led with humility, served with grace, and loved without reservation. As a husband, he cherished his wife. As a father and grandfather, he provided a godly example of faith, integrity, and steadfast devotion. As an elder and assistant minister, he shepherded God’s people with patience, wisdom, and a servant’s heart.

When Clarence and Jerri relocated to California, the Oakland Church of Christ family felt the loss of their daily presence. Yet even from afar, their impact remained deeply woven into the fabric of our congregation. The seeds of faith, encouragement, and love they planted continue to bear fruit in countless lives.

Today, we mourn his passing, but we also celebrate a life well lived and a race well run. The world is a little dimmer without his presence, but heaven is richer because of his arrival.

Please keep Sis. Jerri Locke, their daughter Kyra, grandson, and the entire Locke family in your prayers during this difficult season. May God grant them comfort, strength, and peace in the days ahead.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

Rest well, Bro. Clarence Locke. Your labor was not in vain, and your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

In a world troubled by war, violence, and division, the need for peace has never been greater. Jesus reminds us, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9). Peace is not weakness, it is the strength to choose love over hatred, understanding over conflict, and unity over division. As followers of Christ, let us pray for peace in our homes, our communities, and throughout the world, while striving to be peacemakers in our daily lives. The world needs more people who build bridges, heal wounds, and reflect the peace of God.
