What a Wonderful Purim Celebration! 🎭✨
Sunday’s Purim Carnival at B’nai Israel Southbury was filled with laughter, color, and community spirit as more than 100 children and adults came together to celebrate the joyous holiday of Purim. Families arrived in creative costumes and enjoyed a morning packed with games, a bounce house, face painting, fun prizes and more, along with delicious hamantaschen and festive treats.
It was heartwarming to see our community come together to celebrate this special holiday, especially through the smiles and excitement of so many children. Thank you to our volunteers and families who helped make this Purim Carnival such a wonderful success.
Chag Purim Sameach! 🎭

Dear B’nai Israelite and Friends of B’nai Israel,

Today is Shabbat Zachor, the Sabbath of Remembrance, part of our countdown to Purim on Monday Night. Our texts for these observances highlight the moral imperative of standing up to genocidal hatred. Committed to annihilating Israel, harming the United States, and subjugating its own people, Iran’s dictatorial leadership has squandered an immense treasure and shed much blood. Together with Israel our American forces have entered battle. Israeli civilians and people in parts of the Arab world have run to shelters. At this perilous hour we pray for those in harm’s way. May civilian, military and security leadership both here and in Israel be guided by wisdom and prudence, so as to hasten the time envisioned by our Hebrew prophets 'when neighbor shall invite neighbor under vine or fig tree with none to make them afraid.' May the One who makes peace in the high heavens make peace for us, for all Israel and the whole world.
