Saint John Paul II Food Pantry St. John Paul II Food Pantry is a nonprofit organization providing nutritional support to residents of Southbridge and Sturbridge, Mass.
(1)

We are an Equal Opportunity program supplying food assistance to large and small families, singles and Seniors. The Saint John Paul II Food Pantry relies on a steady flow of funds and donated food to meet the growing need in the communities we serve. There are several ways you can help us accomplish our mission.

* Make a tax deductible donation to the Saint John Paul II Food Pantry. The donation

will enable the pantry to pick up food at the Worcester County Food Bank or from local supermarkets.

* Make a donation of non-perishable food items with dates that are not expired.

* Donate a $10 gift card to local supermarkets, department stores or pharmacies.

* Organize a food drive at your place of work, school, church, community organization or neighborhood.

* Talk to company officials or leaders of your social organization about supporting our efforts with a financial gift.

* Join our growing team of dedicated volunteers that work with clients, transport food, or help with a variety of tasks that make our pantry function.

* Become an advocate against hunger. Learn about food insecurity in our community and support policies that help struggling families.

Hello SJPII Food Pantry. The CFC garden is growing and producing it’s first 2025 crops. This week we have Swiss Chard, a few lovely summer squash and Dill W**d. Dill w**d is the feathry, light part of the dill plant that can be used in so many fresh summer preparations. No seeds. Hope you try a bit to brighten up some dips, cold salads, spreads for crusty bread, garnish for salmon and many more creative ideas

Today, Ron our truck driver,
made an appearance as our own “Gorton’s Fisherman”.
The shopping and stocking crews worked through the rain drops to move a hefty load of food for our pantry guests.
As always they are dedicated and like to have some fun as they get the job done❤️

Our friends at the Community Food Collaborative garden have been very busy moving soil, filling boxes, w**ding and planting. Meet Sue, the newly named “Plant Foster Mom”.
Two weeks ago we had eight weak Heirloom Tomato plants.
Sue brought them home, gave them TLC and today they were planted at the garden. An awesome job well done🌷

The CFC garden has been partially planted but now needs extra TLC.
Low overnight temps, plentiful rain and possible gusty winds tomorrow are a bit unseasonable at this time.
Today plants were shielded against the cold and wind. Plant cloches (green bells), tarps, sheets and even faux leather were used to construct a protective barrier for young
tomato, eggplant, cucumber and squash plants. Let’s hope for the best🙏
