Wallace Mackenzie, age 79, of 1 Therese Ave., passed away at his home on December 5, 2023. His departure leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him dearly.

Wallace Mackenzie is survived by his beloved son, James Mackenzie, who is currently serving in the US Army. He also leaves behind four cherished sisters - Vericonia Mackenzie of Queens, NY, Rita Marie Mackenzie of Astoria, NY, Victoria of NC, and Maureen Ann Ruf of NJ.

Born in Flushing, Queens, NY, Wallace Mackenzie's journey began with an education at Schenectady High School in Schenectady, NY. He further pursued knowledge at Borough of Manhattan Community College, Seminary of the East in New York, and the New York School of the Bible.

Wallace served in the US Navy. For two decades, carried out his role as a US postal carrier in Queens, New York. He coached track in NYC for 30 years and started the first Little League Team in Jamaica where he was a missionary for over 4 years.

Wally's life was radically changed by Christ in the late 90's and he lived for Jesus to the very end. His testimony to the amazing grace that saved him is contained in the tract he wrote called: 'From a Drunk to a Deacon'

Upon relocating to Massachusetts and becoming part of Sovereign Grace Chapel, Wally became a significant member and served as a deacon for a number of years. He indulged in what he loved most by embarking on missionary trips to Jamaica, immersing himself in Bible Study, and exploring the intricate threads of his own genealogy. For many years Wally spent his Saturdays in front of the Southbridge Post Office on Main St. spreading the good news about Christ and His salvation. He leaves behind a legacy, especially for the many young men he impacted, spending copious hours with them trying to encourage, build up and evangelize them for Christ. His joy, laughter and godly witness will be greatly missed. His passion to get the Word of God even digitally was evidenced by his texting out Deuteronomy 31:6 seconds before he gave up his spirit- "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear..for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." His fun, laughter and godly witness will be greatly missed. "Remember .. those who have spoken the Word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith." Heb. 13:7

We mourn over his loss, but rejoice over his gain.
