First Congregational Church of South Windsor

First Congregational Church of South Windsor The First Congregational Church of South Windsor is a member of the United Church of Christ. We have a proud, local history spanning three hundred years.

The First Congregational Church of South Windsor is a branch of the universal, Christian family. Our spiritual forebearers were English Puritans who ventured across the Atlantic to settle in New England where they could worship free from the constraints (and persecutions) of state controlled religion. Their ranks included farmers, merchants, craftsmen, housewives, scholars, teachers, preachers, so

ldiers and civic leaders. While our parish has never been large in numbers, it has made significant contributions to our community, to our state, to our nation and to the world-at-large. Today, we continue the three-century tradition of service by providing opportunities for meaningful worship, spiritual growth, social impact and missionary outreach.

🌟 Transform Your Sunday Routine! 🌟
Ever feel completely crushed by everyone else’s problems? 🛑
It’s a massive life trap: wanting to support the people you love, but slowly drowning in their negativity. We love to help, but you were never meant to carry the weight of the entire world on your shoulders!
🌟 Break the Cycle: Lighten Your Load This Sunday!
This Sunday at First Church, Pastor Dean Kucera is diving into this heavy burden with real talk, fresh perspectives, and a powerful blueprint for emotional freedom.
✨ The Big Takeaway: Observe other people's needs, but don’t absorb their pain. It’s not yours to carry!
• 📖 The Teaching: “Are you still carrying that?”
• 💡 The Wisdom: Timeless insights from Matthew 11:28 blended with ancient wisdom from Gautama the Buddha.
• 🍞 Food for the Journey: It's the first Sunday of the month, which means we are celebrating Holy Communion. Everyone—no exceptions—is welcome at the table Jesus set.
Come exactly as you are! Our summer services are intentionally relaxed, casual, and open to all.
• 🗓️ When: Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM
• 📍 Where: First Congregational Church, 993 Main Street, South Windsor, Connecticut, USA

What is your anger actually costing you? 🛑👇
Holding onto anger is a lot like picking up a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else—you are the one who gets burned. We suffer the most when we choose to embrace our resentment instead of letting it go.
Join us this Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM for a powerful message that might just change how you handle your heaviest days.
Pastor Dean Kucera will lead our worship service with an eye-opening message: “The Burning Coal.”
This week, we are diving deep into:
🔥 Ephesians 4:26 and what scripture really says about anger.
🔥 An unexpected, beautiful connection between biblical truth and ancient Buddhist wisdom.
🔥 Practical spiritual steps to finally drop the hot coals you've been carrying.
No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you belong here. Come as you are, bring a friend, and let’s find peace together this Sunday!
