A beautiful Saturday morning to you all my friends.

Revelation 21:2 tells us: I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

The Holy City, John says, is like "a bride beautifully dressed for her husband."

What is more beautiful than a bride?....
Maybe it is the aura of whiteness that clings to her as dew clings to a rose. Or perhaps it is the diamonds that glisten in her eyes. Or maybe it's the blush of love that pinks her cheeks or the bouquet of promises she carries.

A bride. A commitment robed in elegance. "I'll be with you forever." Tomorrow bringing hope today. Promised purity faithfully delivered.

When we read that our heavenly home is similar to a bride, tell me, doesn't it make us excited to see?

Have a blessed and beautiful day
May grace and peace be yours in abundance

A good Thursday morning to you all my friends.

1 Peter 5:7 tells us: Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Worry...makes us forget who's in charge.
And when the focus is on ourself....we worry. We become anxious about many things. We worry that:

Our co-workers won't appreciate us.
Our leaders will overwork us.
Our congregation won't support us.
We will be the third wheel
We have no friends.
We are not pretty enough.
And so on.

With time, our agenda becomes more important than God's. We are more concerned with presenting self than pleasing Him. And we may even find ourself doubting God's judgment....

God has gifted us with talent. He has done the same to our neighbors, friends, family. If we concern ourself with others talents, we will neglect ours. But if we concern ourself with ours, we could inspire both.

Have a beautiful and blessed day
May grace and peace be yours in abundance

A good Wednesday morning to you all my friends.

May God Himself recover and restore what the enemy has stolen. May He heal family rifts, renew tired relationships, and revive weary faith. May He lift us up and make us strong. May He give us wisdom in boundaries and humility in love. May He show us what's ours and give us grace to release what isn't. And may we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that nothing and no one can separate us from God's love. In His name, Amen

Have a blessed and faith filled day

A beautiful Tuesday morning to you all my friends.

James 4:4 tells us: You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

John the Baptist would never get hired today. No church would touch him. He was a public relations disaster. He "wore clothes made from camel's hair, had a leather belt around his waist, and ate locusts and wild honey" (Mark 1:6). Who would want to look at a guy like that every Sunday?
His message was as rough as his dress: a no nonsense, bare-fisted challenge to repent because God was on His way.
John the Baptist set himself apart for one task, to be a voice of Christ. Everything about John centered on his purpose. His dress. His diet. His actions. His demands.
We don't have to be like the world to have an impact on the world. We don't have to be like the crowd to change the crowd. We don't have to lower ourself down to their level to lift them up to our level. Holiness doesn't seek to be odd. Holiness seeks to be like God.

Have a beautiful and blessed day
May grace and peace be yours in abundance

A beautiful Lords day morning to you all my friends.

2 Corinthians 4:18 tells us: So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

For some of us, the journey has been long. Very long and stormy. Some of us have shouldered burdens that few of us could ever carry. We have bid farewell to life-long partners, to family and close friends. We have been robbed of life-long dreams. We have been given bodies that can't sustain our spirit. We have spouses who can't tolerate our faith. We have bills that outnumber the paychecks and challenges that outweigh the strength. And we are tired.
It's hard for us to see the City in the midst of the storms. The desire to pull over to the side of the road and get out entices us. We want to go on, but some days the road seems so long...
Let me encourage you.... God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.

Father, we know that You are with us every step of the way. We humbly ask that You continue to be with us along the way. To guide us, to guard us and to direct us each and every day. In His name, Amen

Have a blessed and faith filled day

A beautiful Wednesday morning to you all my friends.

Psalm 139:13 tells us: For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

Think for a moment about a carpenter who is getting ready to build a house. He has the blueprints in hand. He has acquired all of the materials necessary, including all of the lumber. He looks at his tools and says, "For this particular job, I need a hammer." And he pulls out a hammer and begins to use it. In a similar fashion, God had a job in mind that needed to be done this year, in our particular area of the world. He created us to be His tool, His instrument, His vessel in getting that job done. He made us from our birth to be fully equipped, fashioned, and prepared for doing the job He had planned.

Let's think about this for a moment. Are we doing the job He had created us for?

Father, we ask that You guide and direct us to do the job that You created us for. Help us to see where we are needed and what we need to do. In His name, Amen

Have a blessed and beautiful day
