Now that all of our Youth Group students are back in school today we wanted to wish you all the best school year. As you step into a new year, remember this:

You are kind.
You are brave.
You are smart.
You are grateful.
You are enough.
You are strong.
You are loved. ❤️

And perhaps most importantly, you don’t have to earn love. You don’t have to get the best grades, make the team, be the funniest person in the room, have everything figured out, or become someone else to be worthy of love.

You are already loved for exactly who you are. 💛

Our hope for you this school year is that you know that truth deep in your heart—and that you find people who remind you of it when you forget.

We’re cheering you on as you begin this new year! You are known. You are loved. And you belong here. 🫶

And a friendly reminder… Youth Group starts Sunday, September 13! 🎉 We can’t wait to see you!

Are you looking for a place where your teenager can build genuine friendships, feel completely at home, and simply be themselves?

Our Youth Group theme this year is Known and Loved — because that is what we hope every teenager experiences here. A place where they know they belong, where they are loved for exactly who they are, and where they can grow alongside people who care about them.

Youth Group is such a special community. Every Sunday, we get to watch teens laugh together, make new friends, have honest conversations, encourage one another, and create memories that I hope they will carry with them for years to come. We are continually blown away by the young people in this community, and we want every 6th–12th grader to have the opportunity to experience the love, joy, and belonging that make Youth Group so special.

There is no pressure to perform, win, or achieve. Just a place to show up as your authentic self — for fun, meaningful conversation, service, games, and community.

Youth Group officially begins Sunday, September 13th and continues each week through June. We meet in person at Old South Union Church on Sunday evenings:

6th–8th Grade: 5:00–6:30 p.m.
9th–12th Grade: 6:30–8:00 p.m.

Throughout the year, we also have lock-ins, speakers, dances, fun theme nights, awesome snacks, a winter retreat, adventure trips, volunteer opportunities, and a weeklong overnight Summer Camp every August in addition to our weekly meetings.

And before we officially begin, we're having a Summer Party this Sunday, 8/23 from 5:00–6:30 p.m. on the church lawn! Come hang out, meet some of our Youth Group community, enjoy some summer fun, and get a taste of what Youth Group is all about. We'd love to see you there!

Youth Group is open to ALL 6th–12th graders, regardless of what school they attend, what town they live in, or what church they belong to. We have teens who come from communities all around the South Shore, and there is always a place for you here.

Registration for the 2026–2027 Youth Group year is now open! You can find the registration page by clicking the following link: https://forms.gle/xYrdFxv6NUPoFZ2Z8

Parents can also join our Youth Group email list by contacting Brian Craig at [email protected].

We can't wait for another year together. ❤️ You are known. You are loved. And there is a place for you here.

Feel free to share this post with a family member, neighbor, or friend who might be looking for a Youth Group community!

The start of Youth Group is Sunday, September 13th, but that seemed too far away so we decided to have a YG Summer Party Extravaganza this Sunday!

We’re keeping the Camp spirit going one more time!

Join us this Sunday, August 23, from 5:00–6:30 PM on the church front lawn for an evening of summer fun, friendship, and all things Youth Group!

Build the ultimate ice cream sundae
Tie-dye a super cool YG T-shirt
Play lawn games
Hang out and reminisce about Camp
Enjoy one more summer evening together

All are welcome! Bring a friend, come as you are, and come ready to have some fun!

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move the party inside to Fellowship Hall.

We can’t wait to see everyone and keep a little bit of that Camp magic going! It’s going to be a great evening together.

See you Sunday!

What a week. ❤️

We’re still processing all that we experienced during our Youth Group service trip to Orland, Maine. We partnered with H.O.M.E. (Homeworkers Organized for More Employment), an incredible organization that has been serving rural Maine for more than 50 years. Even more special, nearly five decades ago Rev. Terry led one of our church’s first mission teams there. Last week, we had the privilege of continuing that legacy.

Our days were filled with sorting clothing, serving meals, volunteering in the daycare, packing hygiene kits, painting, cleaning, organizing, and jumping in wherever we were needed. We came home tired, a little sore, and definitely covered in dust—but our hearts are so full.

While we were there to serve, we discovered that H.O.M.E. was teaching us just as much as we hoped to give. We heard stories of lives transformed through compassion and community. We met people who had experienced homelessness, hunger, and hardship, but found hope because someone refused to give up on them. We witnessed what happens when an organization lives out a simple promise: we will not abandon you.

Of course, the trip wasn’t just about the work. We hiked the breathtaking trails of Acadia National Park, cooled off at Craig Pond, sang our hearts out during karaoke, laughed until our sides hurt, worshipped together, and made memories we’ll never forget. Through every conversation, every service project, every hike, and every meal, we grew closer to one another and closer to God.

We’re incredibly grateful to our amazing adult leaders and teens who gave so generously of their time, energy, and hearts. Thank you to H.O.M.E. for welcoming us with such kindness and showing us what it looks like to love a community well. And thank you to our Youth Group and church family whose prayers, encouragement, and support made this week possible.

Here’s a look back at an unforgettable week of serving, exploring, worshipping, laughing, and growing together. 📸❤️

We made it! 🚐❤️
Our Youth Group has arrived safely in Orland, Maine, where we’ll be serving alongside HOME, Inc. this week. We’re excited to lend a hand at the Bargain Barn, food pantry, daycare, and soup kitchen while building relationships and learning from this incredible community. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for, encouraged, and supported this trip. It’s going to be a great week! 💙

🎉☀️ Happy Summer, Youth Group! ☀️🎉

The final school bell has rung, and summer is officially here! Congratulations on another school year! You did it!

We hope your summer is filled with sunshine, laughter, new adventures, unforgettable memories, and plenty of time to rest and recharge. Wherever this summer takes you, remember to let your light shine brightly.

We’ve got some incredible adventures ahead together:
🛠️ Maine Mission Trip: July 11–18
🏕️ Summer Camp: August 9–16

And while we definitely don’t want to wish summer away… but we are already counting down until Youth Group returns on Sunday, September 13! We can’t wait to be back together for another amazing year of growing, building friendships, and having a whole lot of fun.

Have an incredible, safe summer!

We had the best time last night celebrating our amazing Youth Group seniors on a dinner cruise around Boston! Great views, a beautiful sunset, great music, but most importantly, great people. ❤️

So grateful for the memories we’ve made together and the incredible young adults these seniors have become. To quote Taylor Swift, “Hold onto the memories, they will hold onto you.”
