Today, as we celebrate Jesus returning to the Father in glory, we are reminded that Heaven is our true home. Though He ascended into Heaven, Christ is never far away. He remains with us in the Holy Eucharist, the Scriptures, and the Holy Spirit. Let us lift our hearts above our earthly worries and fix our eyes on the hope of eternal life!

On this "Good Shepherd Sunday", please keep in mind the past, present, and future:

Remember the Priests of your past, those whose Masses you received the Eucharist, who absolved your sins, who married you, who buried your loved ones, who anointed your sick relatives.

Remember the Priests of our diocese who are presently serving in the many parishes, schools, hospitals, etc. throughout our diocese.

Remember the future Priests of our diocese, our seminarians, those studying now so that, one day, they may give their lives in service to the Church in our Diocese of Metuchen.
