There are no true strangers. There are friends and new friends.
Tonight was proof of this as we shared the love of Jesus at our very first Recovery Concert in Deering Oaks Park.
We had multiple worship leaders including Doug Hajjar, Jewel Church, Dean Richardson and the worship band from First Light South Portland Church of the Nazarene .
We had two amazing speakers, Christine Oliver and Freddy Petrone.
There were over 100 attendees and elee served 144 hotdogs, many cupcakes and cookies made for us by Aletheia House ladies.
We experienced two twelve step calls where we were able to get resources for one man who has experienced mental distress and has 3 months sober even though he is unhoused. We also successfully set up a transport to drive another man to bring him to detox.
Ending the night singing on stage with the worship band, arm in arm with my good friend Christine was such a sweet sweet moment. I'm so grateful.
