This week in our POWER series we explore a form of power that many people misunderstand or resist: obedience.

In today’s culture, obedience is often viewed as weakness, restriction, or loss of control. But throughout Scripture, obedience is consistently connected to transformation, breakthrough, spiritual maturity, and the movement of God’s power.

From Joshua marching around Jericho to Peter lowering his nets after a long night of failure and to Jesus surrendering himself in Gethsemane, the Bible shows us that God frequently works through surrendered trust.

Obedience is not about earning God’s favor or manipulating his power. It is about aligning our lives with his will and purposes. Often, the breakthrough we long for exists on the other side of a simple, faithful step of surrender.

Join us as we discover that obedience is not passive weakness, but power rightly ordered under God. When we trust God enough to obey him — even before we fully understand — we position ourselves to experience his transforming work in our lives, relationships, and spiritual journey.

This week in our POWER series, we explore one of the most common and underestimated forms of power in human existence: words.

Scripture teaches that words carry the power to create, encourage, heal, guide, restore, divide, and destroy. From the opening pages of Genesis, where God speaks creation into existence, to the teachings of Jesus and James, we discover that our speech reflects both the image of our Creator and the condition of our hearts.

Words can shape marriages, families, friendships, churches, workplaces, and entire cultures. They can breathe life into someone’s soul or leave wounds that last for years.

Today we examine how Kingdom people are called not merely to control their words, but to steward them according to God’s purposes. Join us as we discover how surrendered speech can become a powerful force for life, encouragement, truth, healing, and transformation in a world desperately in need of all four.

The issue is not whether power exists – whether it is good or bad - but whether we recognize that all power comes from God, is entrusted to us by God, must be surrendered back to God, and is to be stewarded according to his purposes.

Power shapes everything. It fuels our homes, moves our bodies, drives civilization, and changes the world around us.

Yet many people either abuse power or fear it altogether. In this opening message we discover that power itself isn't evil. It is part of God’s original design.

From the very beginning of creation, God used his power to bring order out of chaos, light out of darkness, and life out of emptiness. More importantly, Scripture teaches that all power ultimately comes from him.

We are but stewards of the power God has entrusted to us.
