UMCSM AWANA Awana is a bible based children’s program designed to excite children with games, challenges, and faith development.

It stands for “Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed,” an acronym based on 2 Timothy 2:15. With the choice to become Christian, we become God’s Approved Workers, empowered and sent out into the world to do God’s work. It is so easy to become discouraged in this work, to fall away from the Gospel, to hide or just not speak our faith. 2 Timothy 2:15, however, reminds us that our work is God’s, and that we have no need to feel ashamed, frightened, or alone in this work that we do on God’s behalf.
