Greetings Family of God,

Welcome to our special service today.

We welcome Evangelist Fred Felton, III, one of our favorite sons. I know you will be challenged and edified by his message. He has left an imprint on our lives for the glory of God. He has walked through difficult seasons in his life but has come out better in the end, and his testimony is strong.

Please do not miss the special Pentecost Rally tonight here at our campus at 7:00 p.m. All the churches in our Section are invited to participate. The special guest speaker is Jamaican-born Pastor Nadine Raphael. She is an anointed and powerful speaker coming with fresh word from heaven.

Pas. Nadine is an International Speaker and Author. She is known for her bold, faith-filled, and passionate delivery of God’s Word, carrying an unshakable commitment to biblical truths. Her passion is to help others know and walk in God’s truth, empowering them to step fully into their God-given purpose. She served on staff for 21 years at Christian Life Center Church in various leadership roles, most recently as Executive Pastor, before God called her into full-time itinerant ministry.

I love you,

Pastor Bruce Klepp

Greetings Family of God,

Thank you for your presence at our service today. I trust you will be blessed, edified and inspired.

This past week, a man who had attended Upper Room had quadruple bypass surgery. Heart surgery is common procedure many men experience. Also, another one of our members has been hospitalized. This was brought to mind by a devotional from Our Daily Bread. Humans often try and correct something after damage has been done.

“It’s fascinating to see your own heart. Recently, I did. Chest pain led me to see a doctor, who ordered tests which allowed me to see that my heart has calcium buildup. More than I should have. Atherosclerosis, the doctors call it: hardening of the arteries.

I’ve made big diet and exercise changes. But I’ve also realized that my cardiac concerns didn’t emerge overnight. In my case, they were the fruit of unhealthy choices. In time, those habits couldn’t help but impact my heart’s health.

Scripture uses similar language to describe being spiritually unhealthy. Our hearts can gradually grow hardened toward God – one day and one choice at a time (Hebrews 3:7-8). ‘Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.’ What about us? What habits nudge us away from God – day by day hardening our hearts against Him? We all make some of those choices. God offers to exchange our hearts of stone for those softened by His love.”
Adam R. Holz – ODB.

There you have a great illustration of the spiritual and natural, both influenced by choices we make. I encourage all of us to make good choices and enjoy the benefits. I trust all of you will attend the Memorial Day picnic on Monday.

I love you,

Pastor Bruce Klepp

Greetings Family of God,

Welcome to our service today and I’m glad you are here. I pray you will be encouraged and loved.

The other day I went to Baptist Hospital to visit one of our precious saints. I felt impressed to sing the song, Jesus Paid it All. This is a wonderful hymn with wonderful truth for the believer.

I was curious as to the background on how the hymn was written. I was amazed to find out it involved a long church service and something of lasting value came out of that long service. The author was probably inspired by something which was said. This is the story.

“While listening to a long sermon by Rev. George W. Schreck, Elvina M. Hall felt inspired to write on the back of her hymnal. She later showed the poem to the pastor and was quickly paired with the church organist. The hymn was published in 1868. It emphasizes the Christian belief that Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross covered all of humanity’s sin, leaving nothing for the believer to pay for salvation. The phrase “Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow,” reflects a cleansing power of the atonement. The song remains one of the most widely used hymns today.”

Now you know the background of this great hymn. Just think, something so amazing came out of a long sermon. It is amazing she just had inspirational thoughts and wrote on the back of her hymnal words which have blessed millions and millions of people. It shows the lasting fruit of someone who did something for the Kingdom of God. Do you realize this hymn was published 158 years ago and is still blessing people today?

What are you doing for the Kingdom of God which brings blessing and have eternal fruit?

I love you,

Pastor Bruce Klepp

Greetings Family of God,

Welcome to our special Mother’s Day Service

Happy Mother’s Day! I am not with you in body, but I am in spirit. I have not missed a Mother’s Day Sunday in 42 years, and they have all been a blessing. It is one of my favorite days. This is Michelle’s first Mother’s Day without a mother, and it is also Harper’s tenth birthday. So I wanted to be there for her. I know you will be pleased I am doing that and you have been left in good hands. Lord willing, I’ll be back next Sunday. I read something I’d like to share with you.

“After Joni Eareckson Tada’s mother died, Joni thought about how our bodies are like “jars of clay” that hold the treasure of Christ’s presence. She mused about a modern equivalent to describe our earthly bodies – a cardboard box. She knew her mother’s ‘box,’ with its worn-out corners and bends, was now empty. But, she reflected, it was a box they’d treasured, ’the vessel in which the treasure of the Spirit of Christ had dwelt.’

As Joni notes, those who follow Jesus let Him shine through them. How’s your cardboard ‘box?’ You might feel the creases grow larger as you groan under the weight of pain or disease. As you submit to Him, He’ll shine His light through you, so that those who are in darkness may receive His love and His life.”

I’m sure these thoughts by Joni Eareckson touched many of your hearts and lives and we are glad your box is alive and well today. Be blessed today and every day!

I love you,

Pastor Bruce Klepp
