Greetings Family of God,

Welcome to our special Communion Service today. I pray your life will be impacted for good.

Tomorrow is Labor Day and we honor the workers of America, the people who make and build things. Without them, where would we be? That is just as true for the church. What would the church be, if there were not people laboring for the Lord? I was blessed by this Daily Bread devotional, as I can relate to it because of Alesha.

“My wife, Sue, and I had just finished walking five miles across the Mackinac Bridge, which links Michigan’s two peninsulas. The annual Labor Day event in the United States is a tradition in our state dating back to 1958. We grabbed a seat on a park bench to rest. A man sat down next to us to catch his breath as well. Soon his wife and adult daughter joined him, and we learned that their family – also believers in Jesus – had suffered through the death of a teenage girl just as we did many years ago.

Together we were able to share how God has sustained us and given us strength and faith through the years. It was amazing to think that among the 23,000 walkers that day, we found a family who understood our hearts.” Dave Branon – ODB.

I was aware that Dave Branon had lost a 17-year-old daughter who was killed in a car accident. He wrote a book, “Beyond the Valley: Finding hope in life’s losses.” There you have a real-life situation where God brings people with similar experiences together. The Lord knows your situation because He is the God of all comfort.

I love you,

Pastor Bruce Klepp

P.S. Please come to the Labor Day picnic here at the Campus tomorrow and bring a dish to share.

Greetings Family of God,

Welcome to our special service today. I am glad you are here.

As you know, I follow Our Daily Bread reading plan which gives me both an Old and New Testament reading. I read Romans 15:22-33. Paul talks about his plan to visit Rome and bringing a financial contribution for the poor in Jerusalem. Verse 27 is powerful. It says, “It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things.” Here is a clear indication that when you have partaken of spiritual things, you have a duty to minister in material things.

The word “minister” in this context means financial needs of the Christians. When you do this, you are performing a service to the Lord. Giving finances is a ministry just like any other type of ministry and should be viewed that way. We are called to do the work of the ministry, and this is a very important part of it.

This speaks to me personally that I have a duty to contribute financially to radio ministries which contribute to me spiritually. It is only the right thing to do and my duty.

Part of my Old Testament reading this week was Psalm 119. What a tremendous Scripture on the value of the Word. The writer says so many great things about the Word and one is found in verse 89, “Forever, O Lord, your Word is settled in Heaven.” We need a balanced spiritual diet.

I love you,

Pastor Bruce Klepp

Greetings Family of God,

Welcome to our special service today.

We are delighted to have as our guest, Pastor Matt Boyle and his wife, Keira. They are the Lead Pastors at Sozo Church, formerly Central Bible. They are from England and came to be a blessing to our city. I want you to receive them with love.

Thank you so much for your kindness and all of the birthday wishes last Sunday. I was totally taken by surprise by people who spoke and shared insights. I felt much love from all of you. Thanks for your cards and gifts.

As we have spoken in recent weeks about feeling loved and how to experience more love, I was deeply touched by the story in Our Daily Bread.

“My friend Jose was in hospice care. He’d been alert and talkative during my prior visit but a week later was now frail and speechless. I sat with Jose and his family anyway, hoping my presence would mean something to them. At the end of what would be my final visit, I was the last one in the room with him. I finally stood and slowly headed to the door but stopped and turned around one last time to say ’Love you,’ not expecting a response. There I saw Jose moving his lips. He was mouthing the words ‘love you’ in return. A person’s parting words can leave a lasting impression.” Nancy Gavilanes – ODB.

Just think, the writer Nancy has her last memory of Jose being the parting words of “Love you.” What a great testimony and greater still is the fact that saved people will know one another in Heaven but let us express all the love we can while we are here.

I love you,

Pastor Bruce Klepp
