It was a deeply moving afternoon as community members and fellow law enforcement officers gathered to celebrate the incredible life and legacy of this Williamsburg Police Department hero, K9 Bragi.

The heart of the ceremony was a powerful tribute from K9 Bragi’s partner and best friend, Chief Herron. His speech beautifully captured the fierce loyalty, bravery, and unique spirit of the partner who inspired Team Bragi and Bragi's Legacy Fund.

For those who couldn't join us, or for those who wish to experience these moving words again, we are sharing Chief Herron's full tribute below.

Rest easy, hero. Your watch is ended.

We had an incredible evening at the Dexter District Library for their "We the People" presentation! Our President, Clint Symons, shared the powerful history of military working dogs, the legacy of our memorial park, and how our full-honor interment ceremonies bring peace to handlers across the nation.

But the honor didn't stop with the history. Following the presentation, our amazing attendees stepped up to help with a very special mission for our nationwide outreach program with the US War Dog Memorial.

Attendees wrote condolence cards for law enforcement officers nationwide who recently lost a working, retired, or KIA K9 partner. Thank you to all who joined us to honor these K9 heroes and support their grieving handlers.

A heartfelt thank you to the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Color Guard for their presentation of colors and leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

🐾 Honoring Our Heroes: Rest in Peace, Dolly and Sisu 🐾

Last Saturday, we gathered at the memorial for a deeply moving interment ceremony to give two incredible K-9s their final resting place.

We were there for Dolly and Sisu, two faithful K-9s who gave everything to their work. Dolly brought comfort, healing, and steady companionship as a beloved therapy dog and dedicated K-9 Salute team member. Sisu spent her days on the front lines as a courageous search-and-rescue dog, answering the call whenever someone was in need. Though their missions were different, they shared the exact same unwavering loyalty and devotion to serving others.

To Dolly and Sisu: Your watch is over. Thank you for your comfort, your service, and your selfless dedication. You will never be forgotten.

Our hearts go out to their handlers and families as they say goodbye to their partners. Thank you to everyone who came out last weekend to help us pay our respects and give these heroes the dignified farewell they earned.

Run free, sweet heroes. We have the watch from here. 🐕❤️
