SATURDAY JUNE 6 @ 9:30am We’re looking for volunteers to help landscape the the tiny home and the home next door in Detroit. Projects will include planting bushes, raking and spreading grass seed. No experience is necessary — just come ready to help outdoors! Please wear comfortable work clothes...

What a night! Our Kentucky Derby Family Fun Night 2026 was an absolute blast from start to finish!

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, raced, dressed up, judged, cooked, decorated, and showed up to support this mission. We truly did this together. ❤️

What a night! Our Kentucky Derby Family Fun Night was an absolute blast from start to finish!

🏇 Golden Tempo took the Kentucky Derby win — and congratulations to Kendi for winning our Derby raffle!

A huge thank you to our celebrity judges, Dr. Alyssa Keeling and Mayor Steve Kennedy, for helping choose our Best Dressed Pool Noodle Horse winner — congratulations to Lindy Luau with Jockey Mallory!

Congratulations also to Matthew for taking home the Best Hat award! 👒

And the live board game-style horse race was truly a sight to see! Congratulations to Spider Horse and rider Lucas for racing their way to victory!

Dinner was enjoyed by all, the Methodist Mint Juleps were a huge hit, and the laughter and energy in the room were unforgettable.

Most exciting of all — this fundraiser allowed us to EXCEED our Tiny Home commitment! Because of your generosity, we’ll also be able to stock the cupboards with food and add some cozy finishing touches before someone moves into the home in just a few short weeks.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, raced, dressed up, judged, cooked, decorated, and showed up to support this mission. We truly did this together. ❤️

Join us this Saturday for our Kentucky Derby Family Fun Night—a fun-filled evening of food, friendly competition, and community coming together for something really meaningful.

This isn’t just a night out… it’s our final fundraiser to support the South Lyon Tiny Home in Detroit, and we would love for you to be part of it.

It’s time to turn our Tiny House in Detroit into a HOME!

Through our church South Lyon First United Methodist Church, we’ve been working hard to fund the building of this house — and we’re about 75% of the way toward our full sponsorship goal! But what’s a house without the basics? We’re now gathering furnishings and household essentials so that when someone moves in, it truly feels like home.
