First Baptist Church of South Lyon, MI

First Baptist Church of South Lyon, MI We aim to experience God in a lifestyle of worship, encourage one another to grow in Christ, and engage our world in ministry and mission.

God's vision for First Baptist Church of South Lyon is that we be a faith family on mission to know Jesus Christ more intimately and to make Him known more intentionally. By His grace and for His glory, we seek to saturate our neighborhoods and the nations with the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ. To these ends, Christ compels us to make disciples of all peoples, to train trainers who will

train trainers and to plant Great Commission churches that will plant Great Commission churches. We are informed by the Word of God and empowered by the Spirit of God to be His witnesses from southeast Michigan to Southeast Asia, from the end of our street to the ends of the earth.

Who is God?

He is unchanging.

Seasons change.
Schedules change.
Circumstances change.
People change.

But Jesus Christ does not.

The same Savior who was faithful yesterday is faithful today—and He will still be faithful tomorrow. His character doesn’t shift with our circumstances. His promises don’t expire. His love doesn’t become less certain when life feels uncertain.

What a comfort to know that in an ever-changing world, we belong to an unchanging God.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8

Whatever this week brings, you can rest in Him. 🤍🌻

Who is God?

He is our refuge.

Life can feel uncertain. Circumstances change, plans shift, and sometimes the things around us feel anything but steady.

But God remains.

He is our safe place when life feels overwhelming, our strength when we feel weak, and our help when trouble comes. We don’t have to face whatever this new season holds on our own.

As September begins, may we remember where our security is found—not in having everything figured out, but in the God who is always with us.

“God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.” — Psalm 46:1

Whatever this month holds, we can run to Him. 🤍🌻

Be the Light.

A new month is just around the corner.

New routines.
New opportunities.
New conversations.
New chances to reflect the love of Christ.

As you step into September, ask God to use you wherever He has placed you. A simple act of kindness, an encouraging word, or a faithful witness may be exactly what someone needs this week.

You don’t have to do extraordinary things to make an eternal impact—just faithfully shine where God has planted you.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

May we begin this new season with hearts that love God, love people, and point others to Jesus. 🤍

The greatest miracle in Jonah isn’t the storm or the great fish.

It’s what God does in people’s hearts.

Throughout this book, we see God patiently working to transform sailors, a prophet, and an entire city.

The same God is still at work today.

Join us this Sunday as we continue our study of Jonah: The God Who Pursues.

Rest in His Presence.

As August comes to a close, life may begin to feel a little fuller.

School starts.
Schedules return.
Calendars fill up.

In the middle of it all, God offers a simple invitation: bring everything to Him.

We weren’t created to carry every burden on our own. He invites us to exchange our worry for His peace through prayer.

“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6–7 (CSB)

Whatever is weighing on your heart today, take it to the One who faithfully carries every care.

May His peace guard your heart and mind this week. 🤍
