Easter Eggs
The tradition of Easter Eggs goes back to the early church. It probably began in churches in Mesopotamia, where the egg had long been a symbol of rebirth. For early Christians, it came to symbolize the Resurrection. Later, people would give up eating eggs during Lent. On Easter, they could once again eat eggs and the tradition of decorating these eggs became popular.
As we move into Holy Week, I invite you to enjoy the wonderful traditions of our faith. It is a great way to pass along the faith to future generations!
