Recap of Sunday April 19 service: Pastor Lee delivered a sermon focused on core values and belief systems, emphasizing the importance of aligning personal values with Scripture. He discussed the need for believers to actively preach and teach the Word of God, believe in its promises, and make time for daily devotion and scripture reading. The sermon highlighted the significance of being aware of God's presence and sharing the gospel with family members who may need salvation. Pastor Lee shared personal experiences about procrastinating in sharing the gospel with specific individuals and stressed the importance of not delaying conversations about spiritual matters. The message concluded with a prayer and discussion about setting regular time for scripture reading and prayer as a way to connect with God and receive guidance for life's challenges.

The sermon centered on growing in a personal, active relationship with God by deeply engaging with His Word, prayer, and the Holy Spirit. It stressed that many people believe in God but do not truly align their beliefs and daily lives with Scripture, so the pastor urged consistent Bible reading, especially passages like Psalm 139, and reliance on the Holy Spirit for guidance, comfort, and clarity in life’s decisions and storms. He highlighted that without faith and a working knowledge of God’s Word, it is impossible to please God. Believers must “fight” to maintain faith, especially when facing disappointment, challenges, or a lack of family support. Emotional responses in worship were affirmed as meaningful, but the pastor emphasized that worship should be a lifestyle and that emotions need to be managed wisely while pursuing a deeper connection with God.

The message called people to an active, disciplined walk with God: seeking Him diligently in seasons when prayer feels hard, managing time and emotions, and learning how to pray and communicate with the Holy Spirit. The pastor encouraged the congregation to see themselves as becoming what God’s Word declares about them, to activate their spirit to receive what God wants to give, and to trust that God will use their trials for His purposes. He also underscored the value of spiritual mentors, fellowship (like the upcoming Wednesday meeting), and healthy relationships in supporting spiritual growth.

We pray all mothers and women of faith had a great Mother’s Day. NLM Sisters Fellowship celebrated and had a great day. We shared a presentation on a recipe for a great mom. Ingredients included love, laughter, fun, kindness, etc.

The message shared by Co-Pastor Alfredia centered on the story of Moses and Pharaoh's daughter, emphasizing the importance of compassion and nurturing beyond biological family. The message reflects on how Pharaoh's daughter's compassion led her to save and raise Moses despite him being an enemy of the state, and how this act was part of God's larger plan. The message emphasizes that mothering and nurturing responsibilities extend beyond raising one's own children, encouraging women to show compassion and support to others in the community who may be lost or struggling, particularly orphaned children and young people who need guidance and truth about their worth and potential.
