Serita and Jon wanted to thank you all for your love and support.
A note from Serita & Jon....

A big shoutout and HUGE THANK YOU to First Congregational Church UCC South Haven, notably Diane Van Deurzen & Lisa Otey and all the amazing volunteers who worked tirelessly to make it all happen!!! THANK YOU to our anonymous sponsor and all who donated!! Serita and I have been wanting to host a Soul-food dinner and show for many years, and without their help, it would not have been possible. Serita‘s own recipes made with our own two hands, an experience in your bellies and in your ears. This dinner and performance was a great success!!!! Everyone raved about everything. 91 tickets sold. Many smiling faces. Chicken, greens, candied, yams, fried cauliflower, cornbread, and poundcake. It was absolutely delicious and served hot! It takes a village. From our hearts to yours, thank you!!❤️ ❤️

What a joyful evening we shared at the Soul Food Experience!
Last evening was truly one to remember. We welcomed 91 guests, and thanks to your generosity, we raised $2,340 for our church. While that is wonderful news, the true gift of the evening was the warmth, fellowship, and joy we shared together.
Chef Serita’s soul food elevated our taste buds with her savory and distinctive sauces and her exquisite cuisine. Throughout Fellowship Hall we heard people talking about how divine the food was. There is something truly special about gathering around a table, sharing a meal, laughter, and conversation. The sense of camaraderie and togetherness was a blessing in itself. After spending the entire morning and afternoon preparing this exceptional meal, Jon and Serita then gave an uplifting and incredible concert.
Serita’s soulful and expressive vocals combined with Jon’s rich harmonies and masterful guitar playing, filled our hearts and spirits and bathed us in their love. As the evening unfolded, people sang along, danced, holding each other maybe a little closer, and, for a few precious hours, seemed to leave behind the worries and uncertainties of the week. What an extraordinary night!
This treasured gift continued even as everyone was leaving. So many people asked if we could do this again soon. One guest even smiled and said, "How about next week?" That may be the greatest compliment of all.
An evening like this is only possible because of the many hands and hearts that work together behind the scenes. We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who attended and to the many volunteers who made this magical night possible, including Nancy, Marcia, Katherine, Craig, Marge, Bob, Phi, Stu, Donna & Doug, Margaret & Ted, Sarah, Bethany, and so many others whose generosity of time and talent made the evening such a success. Thank you for making the Soul Food Experience a night filled with delicious food, wonderful music, joyful fellowship, and memories that will stay with us for a long time to come.
