This Sunday, August 30, we will have one service at 10:00 AM at Lake Arvesta Farms, 66850 8th Avenue, followed by our Annual Potluck Picnic. Please join us and bring your lawn chair, and a side dish or dessert to share (see attached for more info). If inclement weather, we will hold the service and picnic at Hope Church.

Be sure to use the 8th Avenue entrance, as that will take you directly to the parking and all of our activities.

Last days in Alaska. Friday and Saturday were spent touring around the greater Anchorage area.

Friday, most took a glacier tour in Whittier. It was very easy to see God’s handiwork in creating the colors of the glaciers. We headed back to Anchorage for some burgers that were out of this world amazing, then we settled into the Puffin Inn for the evening. Some went out again that night to hand out bags of food to the homeless.

Saturday, on our last day, we headed south on Alaska highway 1 towards Girdwood. We stopped multiple times to marvel at the mountains, ocean inlets, and the road that was carved into the side of the mountain! We did a little hiking in the morning and afternoon, and we saw a momma moose and her calf! We stopped at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where we saw more moose, caribou, black and brown bears and multiple other animals. We took one more hike on the Bryon Glacier hike, where we saw a glacier and some of us did some body sledding down the snow hills. We grabbed a quick dinner and headed to the airport to head home.

We arrived back in Chicago about 8:30 on Sunday morning. And headed our separate ways to go home.

We can’t thank you all enough for all the prayers that were sent our way in the last week and more. God was everywhere on this trip, to the failings of our plans to seeing God’s plan for us. In the worship time that we held every evening. In the majestic landscape that was everywhere. And also, in the many people we saw and ministered to this week. Our PPM team, Rose, Austin, Ben and Aubrey. All the many people we met, Scott, Linda, James and Mary, and Turtle. And all the many homeless that a lot of us saw multiple days in a row, and all those we prayed over.

It was a good week.
