☦️⚖️ “GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD, LOSE YOUR SOUL” – Matthew 16:25-26 ⚖️☦️

“For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?” — Matthew 16:25-26

THE WORLD’S MATH

The world says: gather, build, climb, win. More money. More status. More comfort. That is how you “save” your life.

JESUS’S MATH

Jesus says that kind of saving is actually losing. You cling to your life — your plans, your reputation, your comfort — and in the end, you have nothing.

THE ULTIMATE QUESTION

What good is the whole world — every dollar, every achievement — if you lose your soul?

Nothing. You cannot buy your soul back. The only way to save it is to give it away.

“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” — Matthew 10:39

☦️🎵 “THIS WORLD LIES IN EVIL” – Two Children Sing a Serbian Hymn of Trust in the Theotokos 🎵☦️

Two young voices rise together, singing in Serbian. The video has English subtitles, so the message reaches beyond language.

THE SONG

“This world lies in evil, so the Lord has said. Very few good people, but many are bad. They invent lies and various deceptions, and for God’s justice they never care.”

A stark beginning for a song sung by children. But the hymn does not stop at despair.

THE PLEA

“Deliver me from the slander of spiteful people. Mother of God, you are the joy of all the sorrowful. You know my deeds, you know my soul. I fervently pray you to help me.”

The children are singing to the Theotokos, the Mother of God. They are asking her intercession — not for wealth, not for success, but for protection from slander and guidance for their souls.

THE HOPE

“Only you can reach out your hand to me and lead my soul onto the right path.”

In a world that lies in evil, where good people are few and slander is common, the children know where to turn. To the Mother. To the one who is the joy of all the sorrowful.

ABOUT THE SONG

The author of the song is Priest Mladen Marinković.

Share this beautiful hymn of trust, sung by two innocent voices, pleading for the intercession of the Theotokos.

☦️🕯️ “A NUN IN THE WORLD, A MIRACLE IN THE ICON” – Tver Oblast, Russia 🕯️☦️

Video credit:

Somewhere in the Tver Oblast of Russia, an Orthodox icon weeps. Not once. Not in legend. But as a living, ongoing miracle — witnessed by those who have come to pray before it with faith.

THE ICON

The Tver region has a long history of miraculous icons. One of the most famous is the “Clouded Mount” (or “Uncut Mount”) Icon of the Mother of God — a wonderworking image that was kept for over 150 years in a family home, healing the sick, comforting the desperate, and even appearing to a suicidal woman in a vision, saving her life . Another is the Shestokhovsk (“Hearth”) Icon, which was found hidden in a stove chimney, bearing burn marks from a fire — yet miraculously unsinged .

In the Tver village of Stepurino, there is even the miracle of the Cross raised from the ground — a large iron cross, knocked down by lightning in 1958, was buried in the cemetery. Decades later, a birch tree with three trunks grew at that spot, lifting the buried cross back toward the sky — a symbol of the Holy Trinity and the rising of faith from the ashes of persecution .

THE NUN AND THE CAPTION

This video shows one such icon — weeping, streaming myrrh, bearing witness to the presence of the Mother of God.

The caption writer explains:

“Mother Mary is a nun in the world and while we sleep at night, she prays, for all of us and this is a miracle I have seen with my own eyes: peace appears. Thank God for everything! The Truth is in Christ!”

Mother Mary is not in a monastery. She is a nun in the world — living in an apartment, in a town, hidden among ordinary people. While the rest of the world sleeps, she prays. And through her prayers — and the tears of the icon — peace appears.

“Rejoice, O Unwedded Bride, for through you, joy shall shine forth.” — From the Akathist to the Theotokos

☦️🏔️ “I GO TO THE ORTHODOX MONASTERY EVERY SUNDAY” – Tristan Tate on Faith, Discipline, and the Liturgy 🏔️☦️

In a recent podcast, Tristan Tate opened up about his spiritual life, revealing that he no longer just attends a church service here and there—he goes to an Orthodox monastery every Sunday. For someone known for a brash public persona, this admission turned heads.

He spoke not just about the ritual, but about the rhythm of monastic life: the early mornings, the silence, the weight of the liturgy, and the sense of accountability that comes from standing before the icons week after week. He described the monastery as a place that strips away pretense—a refuge from the noise of the world where a man can get his head straight and his soul centered.

For many, this is surprising. But for those familiar with Orthodoxy, it makes perfect sense. The Church has always been a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints. Tristan’s witness—flawed, human, and real—reminds us that the Liturgy is for everyone, especially those who need it most.

“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’” — Psalm 122:1

☦️⚔️ “I HAVE NOT COME TO BRING PEACE, BUT A SWORD” – Matthew 10:34-36 ⚔️☦️

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother... And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.” — Matthew 10:34-36

THE SHOCKING WORDS OF JESUS

This is not the gentle Jesus many want to believe in. This is the real Jesus — the one who warns that following Him will cost you everything, including your closest relationships.

WHAT THIS DOES NOT MEAN

It does not mean Jesus encourages violence or family conflict. It means that when you choose Christ, the world will not understand. Your family may reject you. Your friends may abandon you. Your own household may become your enemies.

WHAT THIS DOES MEAN

The “sword” is division — the unavoidable separation that happens when light confronts darkness. You cannot follow Christ and also follow the world’s values. You cannot serve God and also please everyone around you.

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me before it hated you.” — John 15:18

A WORD FOR THE PERSECUTED

If your family has turned against you because of your faith, you are not alone. The Lord warned you this would happen. But He also promised: “Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matthew 10:39).

☦️🕯️ “I AM 90 YEARS OLD AND I AM READY TO SUFFER FOR THE ORTHODOX CHURCH” – A Nun’s Plea for the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra 🕯️☦️

An elderly nun stands before the camera. Her voice is fragile, but her words are steel.

“I am 90 years old. I am ready to suffer for the Orthodox Church and for the Orthodox faith.”

Her eyes fill with tears.

“Please... don’t take the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.”

THE LAVRA

The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra — the Monastery of the Caves — is the spiritual heart of Orthodox Ukraine. Founded by St. Anthony and St. Theodosius in the 11th century, it has been a beacon of faith for nearly a thousand years. Its underground caves hold the relics of countless saints. Its churches have witnessed baptisms, weddings, and funerals for generations.

And now, it is under threat of being taken from the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

THE NUN’S WITNESS

She is not a politician. She is not a soldier. She is a 90-year-old woman who has spent her life in prayer. And she is saying: I am ready to suffer.

Not with weapons. Not with violence. With the same weapon the martyrs have always used — faithful endurance.

THE VIDEO’S VISION

After her plea, the video shifts. Orthodox churches. Processions with icons. Believers making the Sign of the Cross. Monks at prayer. The living, breathing faith of a people who will not be erased.

This is what they are trying to protect. Not just buildings. But a way of life — a communion of saints stretching back a thousand years.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:10

☦️🔥 “THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS” – St. Gabriel the Fool-for-Christ Burns Lenin’s Idol 🔥☦️

On May 1, 1965, in the heart of Soviet Tbilisi, the annual May Day parade was proceeding as usual. Gigantic portraits of Communist leaders gazed down on the marching crowds. A 26-foot banner of Vladimir Lenin glowed with the words: “Glory to Lenin the Great!”

Then, a barefoot monk in ragged clothes stepped forward.

THE ACT

St. Gabriel Urgebadze – a “Fool for Christ” known for his eccentricity and bold faith – had hidden kerosene in his sleeve. He climbed to a second-floor window, doused the massive portrait, and set it ablaze.

The square froze.

THE SERMON

As flames consumed the idol, St. Gabriel preached to the stunned thousands:

“The Lord said, ‘You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol or a likeness of anything in heaven above, or on the earth beneath... You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God’ (Exodus 20:3-5). People, come to your senses! The Georgians have always been Christians! So why are you bowing down before idols? Jesus Christ died and rose again… But your cast idols will never be resurrected. Even during their life they were dead…”

THE AFTERMATH

The Soviet regime was furious. St. Gabriel was beaten nearly to death, kicked, dragged, and left in a coma for a month. They offered him a deal: confess that the Church was conspiring against the government – and he would live.

He refused. He was sentenced to death, then sent to a psychiatric hospital for seven months, diagnosed as a “schizophrenic psychopath”. The doctors noted: “When someone talks to him, he surely mentions God, angels, and icons.”

THE SAINT

St. Gabriel reposed in 1995 and was canonized in 2012. Today, his incorrupt relics lie at Samtavro Monastery in Mtskheta, where countless miracles are reported.

☦️⚔️ “MORE GLORIOUS TO SAVE A SOUL THAN TO DESTROY AN ENEMY” – St. John Chrysostom ⚔️☦️

“It is a far more wonderful and glorious thing to change an enemy’s mind and save their soul than to destroy them.”
— St. John Chrysostom (c. 347–407)

THE WORLD’S LOGIC

The world says: destroy your enemy. Crush them before they crush you. Win at all costs.

THE GOSPEL’S LOGIC

St. John Chrysostom, the “Golden-Mouthed” preacher, flips the script. More wonderful. More glorious. Not to destroy — but to transform.

To take the one who hates you and, through love, patience, and truth, turn them into a brother. To sn**ch a soul from the grip of darkness and bring them into the light of Christ.

WHY?

Because destroying an enemy ends one life. Saving an enemy creates eternal life — for them and for you.

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink... Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” — Romans 12:20-21

A WORD FOR THOSE WRONGED

You have been hurt. Betrayed. Slandered. Your flesh screams for revenge.

St. John Chrysostom says: aim higher. Do not settle for the small victory of destruction. Pursue the great victory of redemption. Change their mind. Save their soul. That is the glory of God.

☦️🐕 “THE MONASTERY’S FOUR-LEGGED MONKS” – Dogs of the Orthodox Cloister 🐕☦️

Wander through the courtyards of any Orthodox monastery, and you will find them. Not just monks in black robes, but their faithful, four-legged companions.

Dogs of every size and color. Sleeping in sunbeams. Following the abbot on his rounds. Barking at pilgrims who arrive too late. Sitting quietly through vespers, as if they too understand the language of incense and chant.

THEIR VOCATION

These are not pets in the ordinary sense. They are fellow laborers in the monastic life.

· They guard the gates when the monks are at prayer.
· They warm the cells during cold winter nights.
· They remind the brothers that even the simplest creature has a place in God’s order.

“A righteous man regards the life of his animal.” — Proverbs 12:10

A THEOLOGY OF DOGS

The desert fathers did not despise animals. They saw them as part of the creation that groans for redemption. A monastery dog, wagging its tail at a weary pilgrim, preaches a sermon on joy. A stray that finds shelter at the monastery gate testifies to the mercy of God.

Share this glimpse of monastic life — where even the dogs are part of the brotherhood.
