Thank you to Samantha and the workers at National Grid who went out of their way today to place our new gas meter so we could be ready for tomorrow's pasta dinner. These were exceptional individuals who did their work efficiently, expertly, and with kindness. We are grateful.

That day 25 years ago, when the earth and the heavens conducted that abrupt, precious exchange of so many brave, unsuspecting, innocent souls. That's what's on our minds today. The years still hurt, and the tears still flow. For their memory, for our society, culture, and way of life, all so cruelly impacted.
As we know suffering, we thank you Lord for your comfort and protection. As we know suffering, let us likewise be there in prayer and in person for those who suffer.

Come to our Italian Baked Ziti fundraiser dinner 4:30-6:30 pm Saturday September 12 at 27 Saratoga Avenue, South Glens Falls NY, parking spots to be reserved behind the church for our diners. $12 adults and $6 kids. Drive thru or sit down dinner. To reserve your dinner and time, please let us know in advance. Did you know?...ADK Friends Pastor Sue MacKenzie is an award winning song writer and folk musician. Pastor MacKenzie leads us in song each week. Her original songs often find their way into meeting, along with a Quakerly selection of historic old time/traditional music, old time gospel hymns, and ballads.

She won the National Traditional Country Music Association award for best folk album, for two years. She reenacted songs of the Little House books at the birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder, staffing Laura Days annually for ten years. She also played guitar and sang as a member of the legendary old time square dance band, Rush River Ramblers, for 16 years.

Her partner, Doug MacKenzie, grew up in the Fox Hollow and Cafe Lena community of folk musicians, and is also an award winning blues, folk and ragtime musician, having won the North Carolina statewide blues contest, and performing at Durham Bulls field. He led the Doug MacKenzie Band out of San Francisco, touring extensively along the coast, before signing on to the Air Force.
