We served the sweetest community today! Together we partnered with Radical Love to serve recent immigrants to the USA. What a beautifully diverse group of people representing many different countries. Radical Love seeks to build relationships with immigrant families, senior citizens, and children to make our community stronger. Christ Community Church’s Good Neighbor Kitchen food truck was present to serve flavorful tacos to just under 400 people! The Street Evangelism Team was able to connect and pray with people as well. Love God, Love People. 🤍

Due to a full park rental, the pickleball courts will be closed to public access from noon today (6/12) through 5pm, Saturday, June 13.

Sperry Park (726 Dean Street, South Elgin) has 3 pickleball courts which will remain open for public usage.

On the bright side, the weekend event at Panton Mill Park is open to the public, and it includes a free, beginner pickleball workshop Friday from 5-7pm. We will share information later this morning about the World Cup viewing party/Pickleball mash-up event at Panton Mill Park hosted by Christ Community Church. 🎄Christmas is coming! Well…kinda! We are gathering next month across all six of our campuses to pack thousands of Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts! Maybe you put together your own OCC shoebox each year already, so this year we are making it simple for you and throwing a packing party! 🎉

We were honored to partner with We Care Pregnancy Center during their Prayer Walk for Life event! 🤍 The Good Neighbor Kitchen Food Truck volunteers enjoyed serving and connecting with the wonderful DeKalb community while supporting a mission that celebrates life, hope, and compassion.

Afterwards, there was some extra food. The volunteers headed to Elgin to find people that could use some. One volunteer connected with a man walking with only socks. His feet were hurting and hot, so our volunteers took his own shoes off and gave them to the man. That’s showing Christ’s love in action!

The Love Your Neighbor Task Force is doing incredible things for people in our community. They recently disassembled a playground and reassembled it at our partner The Ruth Project! Now children that visit can play on the swings. The Ruth Project offers support and respite for foster and adoptive families. If you're interested in serving with this team, let us know!
