Community Impact at Christ Community Church

Community Impact at Christ Community Church Meet the needs of others and be a part of making Jesus' name known among your community. Our Foundational Beliefs:
1. God created us to do good works
2.

Our Vision: Our vision is to be a church body that exudes a passionate heart for our community demonstrated by tangible acts of love to God's glory. We are most complete when we are giving ourselves
3. Our communities don't want to know what we believe, but rather, if what we believe makes a difference
4. Helping those in need is God's heart and opens the door for us to share his life-transforming truth

Our Strategy:
1. Build Bridges
2. Build Awareness
3. Build Leaders
4. Build up the Team

The Love Your Neighbor Task Force is doing incredible things for people in our community. They recently disassembled a playground and reassembled it at our partner The Ruth Project! Now children that visit can play on the swings. The Ruth Project offers support and respite for foster and adoptive families. If you're interested in serving with this team, let us know!

Who doesn't love a good rage room?! The Love Your Neighbor Task Force rolled up to Streamwood to demo the interior of the building that Christ Community Church purchased adjacent to the Streamwood Campus. This building will expand the campus and create a multipurpose space for ministry use. Thank you to all who helped prep this space for renovation, while hopefully releasing some stress!

If you're interested in helping around the community, jump on our Love Your Neighbor Task Force. This group has been very active recently in helping people like seniors and widows in our area who need some care and support with projects.

This July, we’re bringing the spirit of Christmas to the heat of summer to deliver the hope of the Gospel to children around the world. We are packing thousands of Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes together across all six campuses!

Join us for a high-energy packing experience where a simple shoebox becomes a tangible expression of God’s love and a door-opener for the Good News. We will have a sensory & special needs specific shift at the St. Charles/South Elgin campus on July 17th, and then we will have general shifts available at all our other campus locations on July 18th! Whether you serve for an hour, bring your family, or sponsor a box, there’s a meaningful way for everyone to be part of this mission.

We are rolling out! The Good Neighbor Kitchen has been prepping for service and we are thrilled to send it out for our first event of the season. The GNK seeks to serve people quality food and meet people where they are at, sharing kindness, good food, resources and prayer.

Last night the GNK served roughly 130 international students studying at NIU in DeKalb! The students at Network of Nations like spicy food, so our head chef, Evelyn, put together a Jamaican themed jerk chicken, chickpea curry, and cabbage and vegetables bursting with flavor and spices. They loved it! And our team of staff and volunteers enjoyed meeting and serving the students.

Student Ministries got to serve with Phil’s Friends tonight! Middle and high schoolers learned about how powerful our WORDS are and how to be WISE with how we speak! Which was the perfect combination with creating CARDS OF HOPE to deliver to people battling cancer through our partner, Phil’s Friends. We heard from Phil himself, as he shared his journey of fighting cancer. He shared how receiving encouraging cards and care packages helped him continue on, and that whatever you’re going through, God has a plan and you’re not alone!

Now Phil will be celebrating 20 years cancer free and 20 years of Phil’s Friends, sharing hope with others! Way to go, Refuge! Here are some 6th grade girls working on their cards.
