EVER BEEN TO A MAKER CAFE?
Come check it out!

At Durham Friends Quaker Meeting we provide a welcoming place every month for folks to hang out, learn, and connect. We love to share our Meetinghouse with the community. It's a place for neighbors to meet neighbors and make things together.

At 5:30 on Thursday, June 18, Ginnie Faulkingham will help each person make a Mandala Stone. All tools and supplies provided.

At 6:30 we will have a dinner cafe with live music by John Cross.

Free and open to the public, the Maker Café is not religious and is welcoming to people of all political and religious beliefs, all genders, all colors, and all ages. Family-friendly.

Marty Grundy, author and Friend:
“Of course, we are still human, still flawed, and if our meetings are to be beloved communities we must learn to accept others as they are, not as we want them to be—to accept the opportunity to bear one another’s burdens…. We are reminded that forgiveness is not about justice; it is about healing.”

A prayer from the Iona Community:

May the God of Peace inspire us,
may the God of Justice empower us,
may the God of Hope encourage us
to live the Good News.Go in the power of the Spirit.

Go, and do not try to separate politics and prayer.
Go, not to escape, but to engage with God’s world
Go, to live hopefully, as people of the resurrection.
