Engage the Culture ADDRESS THE MORALE ISSUES OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS OF CULTURE FROM A BIBLICAL WORLD VIEW Hello, and welcome to ENGAGE 7. False!

Here we will be discussing and touching on what has come to be known as the 7 world kingdoms of cultural influence, which are Family, Religion, Politics, Education, Business, Media, Arts & Entertainment. We will endeavor to reveal and proclaim the truth in these areas of influence from a biblical worldview. It can be noted that one area of influence can be used to build or destroy another area of

influence. Any culture where these areas flow together in unison will make a strong and prosperous people. For most of its 1st 150 years, America has by and large, been unified in these 7 areas of cultural influence, though making adjustments along the way- the Civil War, women's right to vote, civil rights, etc., in its ongoing efforts to “establish a more perfect union”. At America’s beginning, politics was preached from the pulpit, and religion was quoted from the Whitehouse and the Statehouse. Religion was taught and practiced in the schoolhouse, respected in the theatre, and influenced the arts and entertainment. Religion was the thread that permeated, influenced and unified each of the areas of cultural influence. It is widely purported that the Constitution calls for the separation of Church/Religion and State. The Pilgrims and founders of our nation always intended that the government be influenced by their religion, but that the government not influence or touch their religion- thus the 1st Amendment, “Congress shall make no law regarding religion or the free exercise thereof.” The pilgrims did not leave Europe to establish a government free of religion, but they left to establish their religion, free of government. And what was their religion- Judeo-Christian. One great indication that our government was meant to be influenced by our religion, is when John Adams, one of the founders of the Constitution, said ‘Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly unsuitable for any other.’ There has long been a move to remove religion (Christianity in particular) from the public square. This attempt is to remove religion from the people. Those who vie for power know that the power of our government is with the people, and the power of the people is their religion. Removing religion from the people is to remove power from the people. Then the government that was formed only for a religious people, will crush the people. Today many are claiming that America is no longer a Christian nation. Even some in the religious community have succumbed to this false cry. Truth is, America is yet a Christian nation- though backslidden, still a Christian Nation! A popular quote attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville is, “America is great because America is good…when America ceases to be good, it will cease to be great.” I would say to you that if America is good, it’s because America is religious/Christian. When America ceases to be religious/Christian, it will cease to be good- it will cease to be great! President Ronald Regan said, “If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”
