The Mission of our church remains clear. South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene is a place where....
..we believe! Biblical truths are taught and people place their faith in Jesus Christ. "If you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 6:17-18)
..what we believe is critical. What we believe provides the basis for what we do and how we live. All of our ministries as a church - Sunday School, Men's & Women's Bible Studies, Youth and Children's classes, etc. - must be solidly grounded on biblical truth.
..the Word of God is living and active. It is not some ancient manuscript that contains outdated and disconnected stories. On the contrary, it is truth that reveals God's power, holiness, wisdom, and love, and His plan to save all of humanity. It speaks to the whole of creation, but His Word speaks to each of us individually, practically, and simply, that we might believe.

RED, WHITE, AND BLUE SUNDAY: We shared last week that we are are celebrating with gratitude to God because a family in our church community have officially been granted legal asylum in the United States after a long and challenging journey!
To mark the occasion, we are encouraging everyone to wear red, white, and blue this Sunday, August 30, as a visible sign of welcome and thanksgiving.

We have been blessed with an incredible group of volunteers the last several seasons and would love for YOU to Join the Team! Upward is a fun, exciting and rewarding place to serve the families in our community. There are several ways to get involved:

1. Coach/Assistant Coach: No special training (Basketball or Cheer) required. We will provide everything you need.

2. Referee: Do you enjoy coaching, encouraging, cheering, and teaching the rules of basketball? If so, we have a place for you on our referee crew!

3. Concession Stand: The kitchen crew works in 2 to 3 hour shifts and are always looking for a new smiling face! The view of the games from the serving window isn't bad either...😉

4. Clean Up: The unsung heroes! Do you have an extra 30 to 45 minutes to spare following the last game? If so, we could use your help sweeping, mopping, stacking chairs, and emptying trash.
