We welcome you to in-person or online worship services in the Sanctuary on
Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 10:00 am. Randy Fife will be at the pulpit this Sunday. The Sermon is “ Reflections on the Scripture ”.

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Speak to us, living God, as you have spoken to our ancestors; through the voices of your prophets, the breath of your Spirit, and the life of your Son, so that we may live according to your word; through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

OLD TESTAMENT Ezekial 37:1-14
The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. I will lay sinews on you and will cause flesh to come upon you and cover you with skin and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” So I prophesied as I had been commanded, and as I prophesied, suddenly there was a noise, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. I looked, and there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them, but there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, mortal, and say to the breath: Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.” I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, a vast multitude. Then he said to me, “Mortal, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are cut off completely.’ Therefore prophesy and say to them: Thus says the Lord God: I am going to open your graves and bring you up from your graves, O my people, and I will bring you back to the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord when I open your graves and bring you up from your graves, O my people. I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act, says the Lord.”

Weekly Nurture Time
Read John 11:1-45
Jesus’ disciples were afraid for him to go to Bethany because some of the people wanted to kill him because he challenged their beliefs and authority. But Jesus knew that his friend Lazarus was dying/dead and that Lazarus’ sisters, Martha and Mary, would be sad and grieving. Jesus comforted them with his words and then his actions as he brought Lazarus back to life. Who helps you feel better when you are sad or grieving a loss? How is God with you at such times?

December 7: Second Sunday of Advent
Read Matthew 3:1-2

As John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way for Jesus, so must we prepare ourselves for Jesus. This is a time of hope and preparation. During Advent, reflect on what preparations you are making in your life and in your heart for the coming of Jesus.

SEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER EPIPHANY
Read Luke 6:27-38 Do you have any “enemies”? How do you treat them? Jesus taught those who would listen to him to love their enemies and do good to those that hate them. Imagine what it would be like in our schools, workplaces, homes, communities, nation, and world if we did so. Reach out to an “enemy” with love this week.

February 16:Sixth Sunday after Epiphany
Read Luke 6:17-19 Crowds of people came to hear Jesus, hoping that he would heal them, and Jesus did so. How has Jesus healed you? How might you help share Jesus’ healing ministry this week?

WEEKLY NURTURE THOUGHTS

February 9: Fifth Sunday after Epiphany

Read Luke 5:1-11 - When Jesus called his first disciples, they were washing their nets after a long night of fishing when they caught nothing. Jesus invited them to follow him, and they did so, leaving everything behind them. We, too, have been called to follow Jesus. What did you, might you, have to leave behind to follow?

From Patricia, our Pastor
Gracious God, our Creator, although the winter weather prevents us from gathering for worship this morning, we remember that tomorrow marks two important events.
We will observe Martin Luther King Day in our nation. We give thanks for his life and witness, for his focus on justice, and on community and mutual understanding, and shared purpose. His vision of unity amid diversity echoes Romans 12:5 - "We though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." As we honor Dr. King's legacy, may we be those who, for your glory, join together in pursuing God's vision for humanity.

And tomorrow, we will inaugurate our new president. As leadership of our government changes hands, we ask for your guidance and presence. We pray for him, and for all our leaders. May every heart be turned toward you. May your will be made known and carried out in all things. May our country, and all the nations of the world, know peace and good will in the days ahead. May your name, in all the holy names by which you are called, be lifted up and glorified. Amen.
