CCUSA welcomes Pope Leo XIV's first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, released today. “With Magnifica Humanitas, Pope Leo XIV has presented our church and our world with an invaluable ethical and spiritual framework for thoughtfully approaching powerful new technologies,” said Catholic Charities USA President and CEO Kerry Alys Robinson. Across the Catholic Charities network, we look forward to deeply reading and reflecting on this new encyclical and applying its teachings to our work serving our neighbors in need around the United States.”

Today, Michaud Memorial Manor welcomed two groups of very special guests!

The 2nd Grade class from Newport Elementary brought smiles, Bingo fun, and a special birthday greeting to one of our beloved residents.

We were also treated to wonderful performances by students from the Human Services classes at North Country Career Center, who choreographed and performed some of our residents’ favorite songs — bringing joy to residents and staff alike. 🎶

Many thanks to both schools for the time, kindness, and care they have shared throughout this school year. Intergenerational connections like these truly brighten our community!

Our clinicians are here to listen, support, and help you navigate life’s challenges with compassion and care.

At Vermont Catholic Charities, we believe everyone deserves support, healing, and hope — no matter your background, beliefs, or circumstances. Asking for help is a sign of strength.

Residents at St. Joseph’s enjoyed a special pre-Mother’s Day celebration on Saturday! They learned that Mother’s Day officially became a holiday by presidential proclamation in 1914, enjoyed juice and cookies, and took part in a raffle where one lucky resident won a white teddy bear. To make the weekend even more special, residents also received beautiful carnations on Sunday.
