On the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Diocese of Burlington will be participating in a worldwide Rosary Relay led by Bishop McDermott from St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Burlington.

The Diocese of Burlington’s time to pray is 11:30 a.m., and we will be following people who prayed the Rosary in Haverstock Hill in England. When we finish praying, our prayers will be spiritually passed on to people in prayer at the EWTN chapel in Norway.

The Diocese of Burlington will be participating in a worldwide Rosary Relay led by Bishop McDermott from St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Burlington, on the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Beginning at midnight on Friday, June 12, various locations from over 100 different countries will begin to pray the Rosary. Every fifteen minutes, a Rosary will be prayed somewhere in the world. When they have finished, they “pass it on” to the next location until finally the entire world will be encircled in the Rosary just before midnight of the following day. The Diocese of Burlington’s time to pray is 11:30 a.m., and we will be following people who prayed the Rosary in Haverstock Hill in England. When we finish praying, our prayers will be spiritually passed on to people in prayer at the EWTN chapel in Norway.

In 2002, Pope John Paul II announced the Annual World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests to be held on the Feast of the Sacred Heart. The first global Rosary relay was launched in 2009 and has been an annual event since. This event serves as a gift from the laity to our wonderful priests to show our love and appreciation. The Diocese of Burlington has participated in this event every year since June 2021.

Join Bishop John McDermott as he leads the Diocese of Burlington in the Sorrowful Mysteries on Friday, June 12, at 11:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Burlington. If you are unable to attend in person, please plan to join us online (vermontcatholic.org/news/communication/tv-mass/), pray with your parish, or in the privacy of your home.

Spring weather is finally upon us! And so is the time to get working in our Community Garden.
Can you help? We are looking for volunteers to assist with watering and other tasks, and we are also welcoming monetary donations for the purchase of fencing and compost. All the produce we grow will be donated to the South Burlington Food Shelf.
And as of this writing, we still have on 12'x12' plot available to rent.

On Saturday, April 25, St John Vianney Parish hosted Sister Paul Mary Dreger, FSE, to lead a women's retreat on the Feminine Genius and special gifts that are bestowed on women.
29 beautiful women were able to attend a morning and afternoon session, which wrapped up with Adoration, confessions, and Mass.
Many thanks to Sr Paul Mary; to all who attended; and to all who volunteered time, talent and treasure to make it possible!

The COTS Walk is a critical annual fundraiser to fight homelessness in our area and will be taking place NEXT WEEKEND on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026 at Battery Park at 2PM. Our little team is up to 17 members and we’re roughly $500 away from our monetary goal. Please help us to keep the momentum going - we need walkers, donations, and prayers for great weather: give.cotsonline.org/goto/sjvwalks26. Everyone who walks will receive an SJV T-shirt, and those who bring in $50 or more can receive a golf umbrella with our church logo on it!
Please also pray for all those who benefit from the services/programs COTS provides.

Our 40 Hours Devotion is underway!
We've got lots going on here at SJV in the next couple of days, and there are still just a few open spots to insure there are two people present with our Lord each hour.
It's not too late to sign up at stjohnvianneyvt.org/40-hours
And check out this schedule of concurrent events, including a Eucharistic themed reflection from Sister Paul Mary Dreger, FSE, and sung Vespers with Fr Steven Marchand.
Consider swinging by the church to spend a little quality time with Jesus.

Our 40 Hours Devotion begins TOMORROW at 3:00AM, and we still have 15 spots to fill in order for two people to be present with our Lord each hour. Only 1-1/2 of those hours are completely open with no adorers!
Many, many thanks to those who have already volunteered for a shift.
If you haven't made a plan to spend an hour in Adoration with our Lord, it's not too late...please consider spending some quiet time to sit with Jesus and soak up his peace and love.
It is also OK to sign up for a spot that has others already signed up, or to just swing by the church any time for as long as you wish.
Go to stjohnvianney.vermontcatholic.org/40-hours to sign up or to see the schedule of concurrent events.
