Today is Maundy Thursday, the day we commemorate the last supper, which was a Passover Seder, so today, Elevation students participated in a Passover Seder meal together and learned about the history and what it means for Christians today.

Today is Palm Sunday, the day of Jesus’ triumphant entry, but Jesus’ salvation did not come the way most of the Jewish people expected. Instead of wielding a sword, he bore a crown of thorns. He did not lead a revolt like Maccabeus or slaughter the oppressors like other heros of old. He did not take up arms. He took up His cross. He died the death of a criminal, but in doing so, He defeated sin and death. In rising, He made eternal life with the Father a possibility for all of us. This week, let us remember the cost of our sin and let us remember the gift of life, forgiveness, and freedom in Christ.
