Guardians of the Metropolia meeting, February 21, 2026: Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Daniel at St. Andrew Memorial Church in South Bound Brook, NJ and installation of new Guardian of the Metropolia, Subdeacon Scott Kerry. Protodeacon Ihor Mahlay presented a Lewitsky scholarship to St. Sophia Seminary.

SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NJ — Saint Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Theological Seminary has been awarded a $1,000,000 grant through the Lilly Endowment’s Pathways for Tomorrow Initiative, which supports theological schools in the United States and Canada as they adapt to new challenges and prepare pastoral needs.

Under the project titled “Saint Sophia 2.0”, the seminary will develop a comprehensive online platform offering video-based educational content for Ukrainian Orthodox parishes across the country and continuing-education programs for clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA. The initiative is designed to extend the seminary’s reach beyond its traditional degree programs, bringing formation and enrichment to every parish and every priest serving in the UOC of USA, while also introducing the broader public to the depth of the Orthodox Christian tradition.

SAINT NEKTARIOS OF AEGINA

November 22nd (9th) is the feast of Saint Nektarios of Aegina, the beloved wonderworker who was no stranger to suffering. Having endured slander, persecution, illness, and hunger, he now offers profound compassion to all who seek him.

Saint Nektarios holds a special place in our monastery's heart. Our sisters minister to a residential home for children with special needs, where a church dedicated to him is located.

A blessed feast to all who cherish him!
