To share Jesus Christ and to spread the Word of God.

OUR VISION:
Our vision is to actively reach out to the needs of our church, our community, and our world through Christian love and hospitality. The congregation of Main Street United Methodist Church has served the mission of Jesus Christ in the South Boston community since 1847. The church has grown from the original Goodman’s Chapel, which was the first church to be established in South Boston.

The present church continues to be a vibrant congregation that seeks to serve the mission of Christ by reaching out in love and concern for our neighbors, our community and our world.

Congratulations to the Halifax County High School Class of 2026 from your friends at Main Street United Methodist Church!

We are especially proud of our church family graduates: Addie Duplantier, Zach Duplantier, Joel Layne, and Carter Thomasson.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5-6
