Sandstone Community Church We are called to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with everyone! The first building was constructed in 1838.

FORMERLY SOUTH AMHERST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH - The first worship meetings were held in 1824 in private homes. In 1842 ground was obtained for the building of a new church which was the beginning of our current structure.

There are moments when the pace of life leaves us feeling more than just tired. We feel poured out, searching for a spark of energy that seems just out of reach.

But even in the middle of our exhaustion, we are invited to a different kind of rhythm. We are invited to pause, to breathe, and to lean into a strength that does not originate in ourselves. It is a promise that has sustained generations: that waiting on the Lord isn't a passive state, but a restorative one.

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." : Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

Renewal is often found in the quiet surrender of our own efforts. It is the gift of a second wind when the road is steep, and the quiet assurance that we are held even when we feel weak. Today, may you find the grace to hope more deeply, trust more fully, and walk more freely.

Take a moment to breathe today. In the midst of the noise, the hurry, and the heavy things we carry, there is a quiet place where we can find rest. We often search for security in things that shift and change, but Scripture reminds us of a steady, unchanging safety.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." - Psalm 46:1 (NIV)

A refuge isn't just a place to hide; it's a place to be restored. It’s where we find the strength to face tomorrow because we are held by the One who created all our yesterdays. Even when the world feels uncertain or the path seems steep, His presence is the steady ground beneath our feet.

You don't have to carry the weight of the world on your own. May you feel His peace surrounding you today, reminding you that you are never alone, never forgotten, and always cared for.

There is a quiet rhythm to grace that meets us before the sun even clears the horizon. It whispers that yesterday’s burdens don’t have to be today’s baggage.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) reminds us: "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Take a deep breath and let that sink in. His love isn't a finite resource that we’ve exhausted by mid-week. It is fresh, it is steady, and it is waiting for you right now. Whatever felt heavy last night, whatever felt like a failure yesterday: there is a new mercy standing in its place this morning.

God doesn't just give us enough to get by; He gives us a love that restores and a compassion that never runs dry.

Let’s walk into this day knowing we are held by a faithfulness that is greater than our deepest struggle. Love more deeply, serve more faithfully, and rest more fully in Him today.

Take a deep breath and pause with us this morning. Sometimes the road ahead feels winding and the map we’ve drawn for ourselves doesn't quite match the terrain we’re walking. It is in those moments of uncertainty that we are invited to lean: not on our own limited perspective, but on the steady heart of God.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) reminds us: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Trusting fully doesn't mean we have all the answers; it means we know the One who does. Even when the path isn't clear, his presence is certain. May you find peace today in letting go of the need to figure it all out, knowing that he is gently guiding your steps.

Take a moment to pause and breathe. Before the day begins its demands, remember your foundation: you are chosen, holy, and dearly loved. In a world that often prizes being right over being kind, we are invited into a different rhythm. Colossians 3:12 reminds us: "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." View these virtues not as weights to carry, but as a garment to wear: a soft, strong covering for the soul. Compassion allows us to truly see another’s heart, while humility provides the grace to listen. It is rarely easy to choose gentleness when we feel hurried, yet we do not walk this path alone. We love because we were first loved; we serve because we are sustained by Grace. Today, may you walk with a heart open to the world. May you choose the quiet strength of humility and the warmth of compassion. You are loved, and you are called to love.

Sometimes the hardest part of moving forward is just knowing where to put your foot down next. We’ve all been there: standing at a threshold, looking for a sign, and feeling like we’re missing the map.

But there is a beautiful promise waiting for us in the quiet. James 1:5 (NIV) says: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."

Wisdom isn't something we have to earn or a puzzle we have to solve. It’s a gift that God is eager to give. He doesn't look at our confusion with frustration; He looks at it with a Father’s heart, ready to light the way.

Whatever decision you’re facing today, big or small, take a second to ask. You don’t need to have the perfect words: you just need to have an open heart. He is ready to give you exactly what you need.

Pause for a moment. In the rush of the morning and the weight of the week, there is a threshold we are invited to cross: a place where the noise fades and the soul finds its breath.

A refuge is not a place to hide from life, but a place to be gathered into grace. Strength is not something we must summon from within, but Someone we lean into when our own power falters. He is not distant; He is ever-present. He is not a theory; He is our help.
