✨ Feel Good Friday ✨

Last Sunday was a very special day at Trinity United Methodist Church as we celebrated both Confirmation Sunday and the Sacrament of Baptism. Together, we rejoiced as young people took important steps in their faith journeys—publicly affirming their faith through confirmation and receiving God’s grace through baptism.

Congratulations to our 2026 Confirmands:
✝️ Olivia
✝️ Elijah
✝️ Sarah
✝️ Olivia

Over the past six months, these students participated in a joint confirmation program alongside youth from neighboring United Methodist churches, growing in their faith through learning, fellowship, service, and discipleship. We are incredibly proud of each of them and look forward to seeing how God continues to work in their lives.

We would also like to celebrate and congratulate our newly baptized:
💙 Channing
💙 Olivia

Baptism is a beautiful reminder of God’s grace and love, and we rejoice alongside these young people and their families as they take this important step in their faith journey.

Confirmation and baptism are not the end of the journey—they are the beginning of a deeper walk with Christ. As a church family, we promise to continue supporting, encouraging, and praying for these youth as they grow in faith and service.

Please join us in congratulating all of these amazing young people! ❤️✝️

Last weekend, we gathered at our home church, Trinity United Methodist Church, for our final Joint Confirmation class — our Confirmation Retreat Weekend!

The weekend was filled with faith, fellowship, learning, laughter, and meaningful moments that our youth will carry with them on their faith journey.

We kicked off Friday evening with dinner, delicious pizza from our friends at Amano’s Pizza — thank you for helping make our gathering special!

The night began with worship and music led by Pastor Sooha and her guitar, setting a welcoming and reflective tone for the evening. Pastor Sooha then led the lesson “Divine Helper: The Holy Spirit as Guide,” where students explored the role of the Holy Spirit in their lives and completed a spiritual gifts assessment to reflect on how God has uniquely gifted each of them.

Pastor Joshua followed with a lesson on the Apostles’ Creed, helping the youth better understand the foundations of our shared faith. We are thankful to all of the mentors who assisted throughout the activities and discussions during the evening.

To end the night, everyone enjoyed games and fellowship outside — a joyful time of laughter, connection, and community.

Saturday morning began bright and early with breakfast and a spiritual reflection walk through the woods on our church property. The peaceful setting gave students time to reflect, pray, and appreciate God’s creation together.

The youth then toured Trinity and had the opportunity to learn more about our church’s outreach ministries, including a visit to the Trinity Thrift Store. A special thank you to Lori Synarski for speaking with the group about how the thrift store serves both our church and the wider community.

Kyle, youth leader from New Dover United Methodist Church, then led the lesson “Inviting Others Into God’s Story.” The youth reflected on how inviting God into our own stories prepares us to share His love and invite others into His story as well.

We concluded our retreat weekend with a beautiful Closing Worship Service that brought everyone together to celebrate the completion of our Joint Confirmation journey. It was especially meaningful to have parents, mentors, pastors, and students all gathered together in worship and fellowship.

Music throughout the service was led by YK Jun, Director of Worship (Music) at Wesley United Methodist Church in South Plainfield. His leadership helped create a meaningful and spirit-filled ending to our retreat weekend.

A meaningful moment came during Steven’s opening prayer, when he shared:

“As this retreat comes to an end and this becomes our final time together as one confirmation group…”

Those words reminded us how special this journey has been. While we now return to our respective congregations across four different towns to celebrate Confirmation Sunday within our own church families, the relationships built throughout this year do not end here.

This Joint Confirmation experience brought us together as one group — united in faith, friendship, learning, and service. We look forward to keeping our youth connected beyond Confirmation through future gatherings, fellowship opportunities, and shared ministry together.

As worship ended, we were reminded that this is also where service begins.

We are incredibly proud of each student for their growth in faith, understanding, compassion, and community throughout these past months.

Thank you to all of the pastors, mentors, volunteers, families, and churches who helped make this Confirmation year such a meaningful experience for our youth. 💛

This Sunday, our Joint Confirmation class gathered at Sayreville United Methodist Church for another meaningful and memorable day together.

We began with Part 1 of our lesson, “Sin & God: Relationship Broken and Restored,” led by Kyle, youth leader from New Dover United Methodist Church in Edison. The lesson invited our youth to reflect on how sin impacts our relationship with God—and the hope we find in restoration.

Pastor Vincent then shared a special experience with the group, leading a tour of the church and offering insight into its rich history as the oldest church in Sayreville. The youth explored the bell tower (and even had the chance to ring the bell!) and read the historic marker on the front lawn, deepening their appreciation for the church’s legacy.

After a snack break, Pastor Frunzi led our second lesson, “Who is Jesus?”—a thoughtful and engaging session that incorporated the beauty and history of the sanctuary itself. Using the stained glass windows as a guide, he helped bring the story of Jesus to life through both word and image.

The lesson was framed with music, thanks to Sayreville’s organist, Del, whose beautiful playing added a special touch to the day. We are also grateful to Del and her husband Patrick for preparing and cleaning up the snacks.

It was a day filled with learning, history, reflection, and joy—another step forward in our journey of faith together.
We’re looking ahead with excitement to our final class at the end of the month: a Friday-Saturday retreat at Trinity United Methodist Church, filled with lessons, activities, and time together. More details coming soon!

We are so proud of our youth as they continue to grow in faith, understanding, and fellowship. 💛

What a beautiful and meaningful afternoon on Sunday, April 12th at the 29th Annual Sayreville Association for Brain Injured Children Charity Ball. 💙✝️

With almost 300 guests in attendance, the room was filled with community leaders, local organizations, educators, first responders, and elected officials—all coming together in support of an incredible cause. It was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community unites with compassion and purpose.

We are especially proud to share that Trinity United Methodist Church of South Amboy/Sayreville l was represented at this special event. Our church was honored to support the evening by purchasing an ad in the program booklet, and to have several of our leaders in attendance, including Pastor Frunzi, Church Council Chair and Sunday School/Youth Superintendent Steven Wegrzyn, and dedicated church leader Lori Synarski.

Lori’s involvement was especially meaningful, as she continues to give so much of her time and energy to the Sayreville BIC organization. She also played a role in assisting during Sienna’s ceremony, making the moment even more special.

And yes—we were even able to get Pastor Frunzi out on the dance floor for a little while… be sure to check out that in the post! 😊

This year’s event held deep significance for our church family as we celebrated one of our own, Sienna Smith. Sienna’s journey has been one of extraordinary strength and resilience. Diagnosed at a young age with a rare and aggressive brain cancer, she has faced each challenge with courage, faith, and determination.

Despite all she has endured, Sienna continues to shine brightly. Her passion for art, her academic achievements, and her recent acceptance to Kutztown University—where she plans to study Art Education and become an art therapist—are a testament to her perseverance and heart for helping others.

We are so proud to call Sienna a member of our church family. It was a joy to stand alongside her and the Smith family, celebrating her story and the incredible impact of a supportive and loving community.

What a truly inspiring day for an amazing cause. 💙

This past Sunday marked our 5th Joint Confirmation class, held at Centenary United Methodist Church in Metuchen.

The youth continued their journey of faith formation with two meaningful lessons:

Part 1: The Holy Trinity (Spiritual Gift Assessment)
Part 2: Prayer – Talking with God (The Lord’s Prayer)

These sessions were led by Pastor Sohaa and Pastor Joshua, who guided the students in exploring both the mystery of the Trinity and the importance of prayer as a daily conversation with God. The youth also took part in a spiritual gifts assessment, helping them reflect on the unique ways God has equipped each of them to serve.

While Pastor Frunzi and Steven from Trinity were not present this week, they were away supporting our community at the 29th Annual Sayreville BIC Charity Ball, honoring this year’s beneficiary, Sienna Smith, a beloved member of our church family. We are grateful for their presence there and their continued commitment to serving beyond our immediate gatherings.

It was a day that reminded us of the many ways faith is lived out—not only in the classroom, but also in service, community support, and love in action.

Stay tuned for a post about the Charity Ball and the impact it continues to have in our community.

We are so proud of our youth as they continue to grow in faith, understanding, and fellowship. 💛
