Brooks Funeral Home is honored to assist the family of Ryan Lee Druen, age 52 of Munfordville, KY, passed away on May 29, 2026 at U of L Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Sonora, KY. He attended services and was very active at the Faith Independent Church in Hardyville, KY. He was a Member of the Gavel Masonic Lodge #570 F & AM. He was a dedicated firefighter with the Elizabethtown Fire Department for 24 years. He enjoyed playing croquet with his fellow firefighters, as well as hunting and fishing.

He is the son of Rodney and Joyce Druen of Sonora, KY.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Chris Druen; his grandparents, Melvin and Kathryn Druen.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife Melinda Caswell Druen, Munfordville, KY; his two children, Ashley Reynolds, Horse Cave, KY and Riley Druen, Munfordville, KY; two grandchildren, Jayden and Journey Jaggers, Horse Cave, KY; one brother, Adam Druen; his two aunts, Tammy Smith (Uncle Tim), Rineyville, KY, and Millie Druen (Gary Allen), Elizabethtown, KY; Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive

The family will welcome friends from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM CT on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Central Hardin High School in Cecilia, KY. Then again from 10:00 AM- 8:00 PM CT, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY. On Thursday, June 4, 2026, visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 AM CT,at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 11:00 AM CT with Bro. Joey Sexton officiating. Burial with Masonic Rights will follow in the Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.

Update: Aaron and family are home. Aaron has a concussion. Gods hand was definitely on them as the suburban flipped numerous times.

Prayers Requested: Pastor Jeff Jackson and DLynda Jackson requested prayer for their son Aaron, his wife and daughters. They were in a wreck earlier today. They live in Alabama and Pastor Jeff and Dlynda live in Texas, so prayers for pastor Jeff and DLynda Jackson as well.

Honoring Firefighter Ryan Druen

Today, Saturday, May 30th, our community will stand together to honor the life and service of Firefighter Ryan Druen as he makes his final journey home.

The procession is expected to depart Louisville at 1:00 p.m. and travel south on I-65 with an anticipated arrival at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville at approximately 2:21 p.m.

Estimated procession times:

* Brooks – 1:27 p.m.
* Shepherdsville – 1:33 p.m.
* Lebanon Junction – 1:41 p.m.
* Elizabethtown – 1:50 p.m.
* Glendale – 1:56 p.m.
* Sonora – 2:00 p.m.
* Upton – 2:04 p.m.
* Bonnieville – 2:12 p.m.
* Brooks Funeral Home (Munfordville) – 2:21 p.m.

Fire departments from across the region, including Louisville, Bullitt County, all Hardin County fire departments, Munfordville Fire Department, and many others, will be positioned on overpasses along the route with fire apparatus displaying their respect and support. Elizabethtown firefighters will be stationed at each Elizabethtown overpass, with the 91 and 94 overpasses reserved for EFD personnel, family, and friends.

The Elizabethtown Fire Department will be escorting the procession with multiple apparatus and personnel, while Shepherdsville Fire Department has graciously agreed to provide coverage for any emergency calls during this time.

Community members wishing to pay their respects are encouraged to do so from overpasses and other SAFE locations along the route. Please remember that safety is the top priority for everyone gathering to honor Ryan’s service and sacrifice.

Please keep Ryan’s family, friends, and fellow firefighters in your thoughts today as we join together to celebrate a life dedicated to serving others.
