GOOD CHEER XV is happening Thursday December 23 on IG Live at 8pm ET. Follow jasonandersonmusic on Instagram to join in the fun.

A holiday tradition since 2007, the spirit of the fest feels more important this year than it ever has.

So come, let us gather, in story and song, connected, communal, together, apart. The show must go on. 🎄❤️

This historic jazz album premieres tonight with a live Facebook event at 7PM. This performance features Mark Harvey and Peter Bloom (Aardvark Orchestra). More details are on the way.

First, it seems one should freeze the time. To do so places them in the autumn of 1971. October 31, exactly. All Hallows Eve. Nineteen months previous, Ohio National Guard troops had killed four college students in Kent, Ohio. Others in Jackson, Mississippi were murdered in the weeks that followed.....

Noell recorded this piece live in her apartment in two separate rooms in Somerville, MA under quarantine with the windows open. Instrumentation is solo voice with mini vox amplifier and microphone.

Noell has performed at the Nave, probably more than one time. I've lost count. I'm happy to pass this along on this page. Thanks, Noell for this performance!

Matt Samolis is a long-time friend and collaborator. I first met Matt at the Nave and performed in his Metal and Glass Ensemble from 2008 on. We were scheduled to have a show at the Nave on April 4th, which obviously didn't happen. This work is Matt's music and meditative practice. Listen carefully and it will cancel out a lot of the noise in the world today.

I think Victoria Shen performed on Nave Music Series in 2013. The reason I'm not certain is that I was in Florida for half the year caring for a parent. But I understand that she was there and got to perform. Check this out. It's great stuff. For more engaging performances (from home) check out Non-Event at Home and subscribe.

I just wanted to share this excellent series with our Nave Music Series fans. Andrea Pensado has performed at the Nave, and we hope to have her back soon for a live show! Until then, check out Non-Event@Home. They're curating a lot of excellent music to keep us engaged and thinking while we're at home.

A New York City musician found a natural outlet for his music while in quarantine due to the coronavirus outbreak.

I'm sharing Transient Canvas's event on the Nave Music Series page. I think that both Amy and Matt have played at the Nave at some point, and if they haven't I would love to book them in the future to perform at the Nave, in person and with an audience in the same room!

With all public performances postponed for the near future, I'm glad to see that a number of performers are finding ways to put on shows and engage audiences online. I very sadly have had to shelve the two shows I had already confirmed for Nave Music Series for this spring. One way to make this page useful is to reach all of you that like and follow this page and let you all know about the upcoming shows that you can catch online in the comfort and safety of your own home.

While I'm writing this, I realized that there are absolutely no obstacles to any performers who want to book a Nave Music Series show! That's right! We can now do the whole thing with no expenses, scheduling conflicts, space availability, getting the piano tuned, banging radiator pipes, lack of street parking, and all the rest of the mundane hassles with putting on a show (and there's no clean up afterwards)! If you're interested, just plan an online performance and drop me a note and we'll share it here. I'll be promoting it to our lists and linking to any recordings you might make as well.

Be safe, stay well, and I hope I'll see you at a show in the Fall!
