Yom HaShoah and Yom HaAtzma'ut
Jewish Boston has compiled events in the area for Yom HaShoah (mostly this weekend) and Yom HaAtzma'ut (4/21-22)

Two events in particular for Yom Hashoah, held on Sunday 4/12:
Family-Friendly Commemoration 11:30am at the New England Holocaust Memorial. Register here. If you are interested in going as a group please contact Joel Sawady at [email protected]. Note: This is a change in location and time from what was sent in the announcement earlier this week.

JCRC Community Commemoration 10:30am at 60 State St downtown. Register here. Both events will converge for a ceremony at the New England Holocaust Memorial at noon. Lunch and schmoose hosted afterwards by Boston 3G at Hennessey's.

I think it's time to re-up this oldie article about the tropes undergirding anti-Jewish hatred and conspiracy theories as they exist today came to be.

They didn't come from nowhere. And if you have questions about what these photos have to do with antisemitism, read the post and it might make more sense.

If you ever wondered why, exactly, Jews are the creamy center of just about every conspiracy theory, why we're somehow supposed to be both dirty commies and capitalist pigs *at the same time*, why antisemitism seems to spike every time things are going poorly for the guys in charge--

well, have I got an explainer for you.

Because it's actually neither confusing nor the case that the Jews are all actually in on some nefarious plot --

(like you all, I'm still waiting on my Magical Soros Protester Check alleged to be owed from the first Trump administration)

and when you trace the history from, well, the Jewish-Christian split through Constantine, through the vicissitudes of European rule to now --> well, how we got here (and how we're getting the same kind of garbage on the left and the right) starts to make a lot more sense.

This year, we'd like to hear from you for the d'var Torah. We invite you to submit a short story, poem, or piece of artwork that you can read or show. Everyone, including allies, is welcome to submit a piece. If you can't make it or hate public speaking, you can have someone read it for you. We are also available to help you with a prompt or putting together your story.
