The New Cemetery Association of Somerville The New Cemetery Association of Somerville is an example of a Victorian Cemetery and is a place of quiet repose. It is an active cemetery, formed in 1867.

It features funerary sculpture and encompasses history from around 1860 to the present.

On December 19, volunteers will be laying wreaths on the graves of veterans who have passed on. so far 1500 wreaths have been ordered and they will be laid on the graves the same time that they will be laid on the graves at the Arlington National Cemetery. This is a joint venture between the Somerville Elks, American Legion Post 12 and the New Cemetery Association. ILn addition to the regular wreaths that we put down for Christmas, there will be over 2000 wreaths on the graves this year. Stop and and see them

It is with regret that I announce that due to the storm last month and the amount of time and energy it takes the Board of Trustees of the cemetery have decided not to have the 150th anniversary celebration in October. We think everyone for their support

The Cemetery Association would like to thank its supporters who made our grave blanket sale another success. We sold our entire inventory.

It's that time of year again. The new Cemetery, of Somerville once again is selling grave blankets. The cost is $35 each and they can be ordered by calling the Cemetery at 908-725-1871

Our Board of Trustees President works very hard ensuring that the new trees planted over the past few years are waters every week (several times a week in dry conditions). We now have over 60 varieties of trees in the Cemetety.
