The Point Community Church family had an incredible time showing up and serving at two amazing local events today:

🇺🇸 The Franklin Township Memorial Day Parade
👟 The 47th Annual North Brunswick Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk

We were blown away by the amazing turnout! No matter what the weather threw at us, the energy and crowd were absolutely unmatched. We love our community, and we love getting to serve the people who make it so special. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, run, walk, or cheer along with us!

While we loved seeing everyone come together this weekend, today we want to take a meaningful moment to focus on the true heart and meaning of Memorial Day—honoring and remembering those who gave everything for our freedom. 🕊️

This Sunday, we saw how the same Jesus who raised Lazarus in John 11 is still turning our fences into freedom.

Sabbath is where God turns the scars of the week
into strength for the next.
Sabbath serves Jubilee by creating a people
strong enough to live free and set others free.

Sabbath isn’t about prohibition. It’s about releasing potential, recovering our identity, and living in rhythm with our Creator. Work, rest, reflect, grow. Jesus dignifies every person by calling them to their fullest selves—not tokenizing them, but truly seeing them.

Are we creating sacred space that invites people in AND calls them higher? Let’s move from drawing lines to discovering possibilities.

Where’s the line? It’s a question we often ask in faith and life. But what if God’s response is: “The line is way out there—you have plenty of room to run”?

“Do you want to be healed?” Jesus asked a man who had been disabled for 38 years. Not a throwaway question—but an invitation to imagine that his story wasn’t over.

Last Sunday we explored how the gospel has no discrimination in its offer (“whoever believes”), but Jesus showed particular pursuit of those the world overlooks: the Samaritan woman, the Roman official, the disabled man at Bethesda. The most able God is also the disabled God—Jesus carries the marks of His wounds even in resurrection, forever identifying with our compromises.

We learned from Tony Perella’s journey with MS that glorified and compromised aren’t mutually exclusive. God doesn’t see disability only through the lens of limitation, but opens the possibility of expansive leadership. The question for all of us: Is this the end of your story, or is there more God wants to do through you—not despite your limitations, but within them?

Come Join us this Sunday as we gather to worship and understand the real meaning of sabbath from Gospel of John.

What if doubt isn’t the enemy of faith, but part of the journey?

This week we explored the story of “Honest Thomas” - not doubting, but reasonable. He simply wanted what the other disciples had: to see Jesus for himself. And Jesus didn’t shame him. He drew near.

The resurrection speaks peace to our fears, purpose to our lives, and yes - even to our doubts. Because when we live lives of kingdom purpose, doubts will come. The question isn’t if, but when. And when they do, we don’t need to hide them or compartmentalize them. We bring them to the God who cares AND the God who is.

Thomas took the gospel further than any other disciple - all the way to India. His doubt didn’t disqualify him. Neither does yours. Jesus invites us to move forward not apart from our doubts, but with renewed confidence in Him.

“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” - John 20:29
Sunday 4/12

“Peace be with you.” These weren’t just comforting words—they were Jesus’ resurrection promise to terrified disciples hiding behind locked doors.

This Easter, we discovered Jesus offers two kinds of peace: peace IN the presence of fear, and peace IN the absence of purpose. When death threatened everything the disciples had risked for three years, Jesus showed up with scarred hands and breathed the Holy Spirit into them. The same power that raised Him from the dead now lives in us.

We don’t have to live calibrated by fear or stuck in purposeless cycles. The resurrection isn’t just about Jesus conquering death—it’s about Him sending us out with His presence and power. As the Father sent Jesus, so Jesus sends us. Not to avoid life, but to attack it. Not just to survive the storms, but to overcome and thrive.

The joy will come too. That’s our holy charge this Easter.
