🚧🔧 Junkyard Redemption VBS – Night One Recap! 🔧🚧
What an incredible start to VBS 2026 at Colo Baptist Church!
Last night, we welcomed 64 people in attendance, including 43 kids, as we kicked off our week of Junkyard Redemption. We had a wonderful evening of songs, games, crafts, Bible lessons, and fellowship as we began learning about God's plan to restore what is broken.
As we head into Night Two, our kids will discover that God makes eternal promises and always keeps His promises. Through the story of Abraham and God's covenant with him, they'll learn that God's promises are trustworthy, even when we can't yet see how He will fulfill them. Just as Abraham chose to trust God, we can have faith that God always keeps His word and remains faithful to His people.
🌎❤️ This year, we're especially excited about our Missions Project, which gives our kids two opportunities to serve—both globally and locally!
🎁 Operation Christmas Child
Kids are encouraged to bring in monetary donations to help cover the shipping costs of our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Every dollar given helps send the Gospel around the world through these special gifts and supports our church's shoebox ministry.
🥫 Community Service Box Project
We're also collecting non-perishable food items for a special community service box that our youth group will be building this summer. This box will provide free food items, Bibles, devotionals, crafts, and other resources for those in our community who may need them. It's a wonderful opportunity for our kids to put service into action right here at home!
🏆 Boys vs. Girls Competition!
Each non-perishable food item counts as ONE point. (That means if you bring a 12-pack of macaroni and cheese, that's 12 items!)
The boys and girls will be competing throughout the week to see who can bring in the most items, so let's get those donations rolling in starting TONIGHT!
📦 Collection boxes will be available in the front foyer for drop-off.
We are so thankful for the great start God has given us this week and can't wait to see what He continues to do through the remainder of VBS. Join us tonight at 6:30 PM for another exciting evening at Junkyard Redemption!
