Congratulations to one of our own, Dr. Jamil Maroun, on being selected as the next Superintendent of Franklin Township Public Schools!

The community of St. Sharbel Church is proud to celebrate this wonderful achievement. As a Franklin native and dedicated educational leader, Dr. Maroun now returns to serve the very community that helped shape him. He will succeed retiring Superintendent Dr. John Ravally and is expected to begin his new role on September 1, 2026.

Dr. Maroun has served the Manville School District since 2016, first as Principal of Roosevelt School, then as Assistant Superintendent, and now as Superintendent. His leadership has been marked by a commitment to equity, innovation, and student success.

We are especially proud to see a member of our parish family continue to make such a meaningful impact in the lives of students, families, educators, and the wider community. Leadership in education is a true vocation, one that requires wisdom, patience, vision, and heart.

May God bless Dr. Maroun in this new chapter and guide him as he leads Franklin Township Public Schools with strength, humility, and purpose.

Congratulations, Dr. Maroun! Your St. Sharbel family is proud of you!

What a beautiful and blessed day our Knights of Mary had on Saturday! β€οΈπŸ™

As the first spiritual retreat for our Knights of Mary, our theme was inspired by Saint Carlo Acutis' powerful words:

"The Eucharist is my Highway to Heaven."

Throughout the day, our children discovered what it means to catch the fire, spread the fire, and live the Eucharistic fire. Through Scripture, prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, and the opportunity for Confession, they learned how Carlo's deep love for Jesus in the Eucharist transformed his life and how they too can grow closer to Christ through prayer, the sacraments, and living their faith each day.

During Adoration, the children brought their prayers and intentions before Jesus, placing their footsteps on the Highway to Heaven and reflecting on how they can continue walking with Christ in their daily lives.

Following the retreat, many of the children remained for Divine Liturgy, where four children received their Knights of Mary Promise. We are so proud of them and pray that they continue to grow in faith, love, and devotion to Jesus and Our Blessed Mother.

A heartfelt thank you to Abouna Simon for his spiritual guidance, for leading our children in Adoration and Confession, and for his unwavering dedication to nurturing the faith of our youth. We are truly blessed by his leadership and care.

Thank you as well to our Knights of Mary leader, volunteers, parents, and everyone who helped make this special day for our children.

God bless our youth and their families and may they always have that Eucharistic fire that leads them to Christ. πŸ”₯πŸ™

Our Blessed Mother, May your prayer be with us, O Mother of our Lord. May your prayer be with us, and may the Lord hear your prayers and forgive us. May He build a rampart of mercy by your prayers for our assembly, which longs for your prayers and your supplications. Amen πŸ™βœοΈ
