"Looking back at Christ’s work on the cross and looking forward to his second coming, believers around the world live patiently in the present, in love and holiness. This is the global message of 1 Thessalonians."

We are starting Bible Study for 1st Thessalonians tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:00. We will meet at Brother and Sister Ramsey's home in town. Hope to see you there!

We hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Christmas. We are now getting back into our weekly Bible Studies and we would be so happy to have you join our small group in town. Get back into a good routine after the holiday chaos! Rest for the weary and hope for the heart is found in God's Word.

🕯 We wanted to thank everyone who joined us for a great Candlelit Christmas Service Sunday evening! Especially to the ones who shared the Word and their talents and to those who supplied the refreshments afterwards. Thank you!

***Also, we will not be having Bible study tomorrow. And our youth will be joining New Beginnings for their Christmas Party.

***We will have service as normal on Christmas Eve MORNING, but will omit service that evening.

❄️ We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Christmas. We want to also remind everyone to be thoughtful and considerate of those who are having a difficult time, especially this time of year. Depression, anxiety, grieving, and suicidal thoughts are unfortunately magnified for many this season. Check on people. Call and visit them. Let them know you're thinking about them. Pray for them. Include them. Share the Greatest Gift. Be patient and thoughtful. Go the extra mile.

🌟Merry Christmas to all!

Friends, have your spiritual waters become empty and dry? Have your spiritual leaves withered and blown away? Maybe there was never fresh water or flourishing leaves to begin with. Or maybe they have dried up over many difficult years.

Go to the River.

Find your stillness. Your quiet place.
And ask the River Maker for a drink of living water. Ask Him and see that He does not withhold this life giving substance from those who desire it.

Immerse yourselves in waves of Grace.
Sit under the ever flowing Springs of Mercy.
Swim in the vast waters of forgiveness.
Float upon His peace.
Be flooded with all the goodness and the presence of God. Let it wash over.

Enjoy this Water and it's freeness daily. Allow it to transform you.
Then trust. And wait.

Watch and see how the dry is made to flourish. How the fresh fruit and the luscious leaves abound. How what was once stagnant is made living and fresh again. How what was dead is made alive again.

7- "Then he took me back to the riverbank. While sitting on the bank, I noticed a lot of trees on both sides of the river.

8-10 He told me, “This water flows east, descends to the Arabah and then into the sea, the sea of stagnant waters. When it empties into those waters, the sea will become fresh. Wherever the river flows, life will flourish — great schools of fish — because the river is turning the salt sea into fresh water. Where the river flows, life abounds. Fishermen will stand shoulder to shoulder along the shore from En Gedi all the way north to En-eglaim, casting their nets. The sea will teem with fish of all kinds, like the fish of the Great Mediterranean.

11 “The swamps and marshes won’t become fresh. They’ll stay salty.

12 “But the river itself, on both banks, will grow fruit trees of all kinds. Their leaves won’t wither, the fruit won’t fail. Every month they’ll bear fresh fruit because the river from the Sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”

"For from His fullness, we have all received grace upon grace." John 1:16 esv

Let the holidays bring out the grace in you.
When road rage stirs within, when impatience wants to come out, when the lines are long, the customers are rude, the traffic is insane...in the middle of the chaos, let us extend grace when it doesn't make sense to the world. Let us imitate Jesus in our graciousness, our meekness and our patience. The holiday season especially, is an opportune time to show the gentleness of Christ, that we have eternal joy and have been set apart. What a time to show the world that He offers peace in chaos. He offers rest in the business. He offers love unfailing in a world of coldness. This holiday season, "do not conform to the pattern of this world." You'll never influence it by being just like it.

As the holidays approach, time to spend with Jesus becomes hard to come by. But we don't have to go through the holidays far from Him. Fight for stillness amid the chaos. Cherish even one moment that you can spend near to Him and really make it count:
• A song of praise sung in the car while traveling from one neighborhood to the next to visit family.
• Be sincere, genuine and heartfelt when giving thanks before each of your meals.
• Find a way to serve someone: bring someone a to go box full of delicious leftovers or offer to help clean up after a meal. You'll find Him even nearer when you are serving others.
• Let gratitude and His love flavor your speech everywhere you go, to everyone you come in contact with.
