January’s recap incase we missed you:
First off, we’re so thankful for another great meeting and all the amazing women who filled the room this past Thursday! Watching moms connect, support, and enjoy community together is such a beautiful sight!🤩
We are especially grateful to the S.C.C. P.T.A. Program’s students and staff for their time and intentionality with our mommas. They provided them massages and paraffin hand treatments- what a tangible way to care and show love through service?! THANK YOU!!
Our topic for the night focused around rest. Motherhood, as beautiful as it is, carries a constant, often unseen weight- the physical exhaustion, mental overload, and emotional strain. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus doesn’t ask us to finish everything before coming to Him; he simply invites us to come as we are. His invitation to rest meets us in the middle of it all, not just when we catch up our to do lists.
Biblical rest is more than physical, it is soul-deep renewal found in relationship with Christ. Rest was woven into God’s design from the beginning, not as a reward for productivity, but as a sacred necessity. When we resist rest, we often carry a false sense of control, but choosing to rest becomes an act of trust, declaring that God is still at work even when we stop.
Biblical self-care at its core is not self-centered, but rather God-centered. As temples of the Holy Spirit, caring for our bodies and souls is an act of stewardship, not indulgence. God’s call to slow down is not a rebuke, but a compassionate invitation to lay down burdens we were never meant to carry- made by a loving father.
Rest doesn’t require perfect conditions or long stretches of time. It may come in small, intentional moments- choosing sleep, opening Scripture, whispering a prayer. Rest will look different in every season, but God’s invitation remains the same: come to Him, and let Him be our strength and help carry our weight. Remember “Small moments of surrender can become holy spaces.”
Ladies got to relax with some adult coloring pages which they framed and took home with them to serve as visible reminders to take the time to rest in him!
Thank you all for being part of such a meaningful evening. Our hearts are full, and we’re so grateful for this community! Mark your calendars for our next meeting and watch the page for details- we’ll see you ladies February 19th!
