April M.O.M.S. meeting was calling for storms but turned into a pleasant evening where we were able to celebrate all the ways God fills our cups! Just like Psalms 23:5 says- He doesn’t just give us a little, but rather he fills our cup to overflowing. When we come to him empty, Christ always meets us with more than enough! The night was also overflowing-overflowing with activities! We started the night with several nursing students who came to educate us on how to safely administer OTC medicines to kiddos. We then filled our bellies with a taco bar spread and had all the desserts! We laughed our way through a coffee cup exchange game and then Candice brought us a devotional about what allowing him to fill our cups looks like. We wrapped up the night by moving out into to the breezeway where ladies were able to pick out and plant flowers into their new mugs to take home with them to serve as a visual reminder of all we had discussed.

If you got a picture of your flower, we’d love to see your photos in the comments! ☺️

Nights like this remind us all just how faithful God is to fill what we bring to him. Can’t wait to gather again, and we hope you’ll come join us next time! Mark your calendars for May 21st, it’ll be our last gathering until we get together again in the fall!

As mom life normally goes- it’s been a busy spring so far and as I was about to share our April meeting recap I realized that I never shared our highlights from our March meeting! So here’s some photos of what the ladies were up to last month!

We had the opportunity to hear from Megan Girdler Weatherford, a psychology professor at SCC, who shared how science and Scripture beautifully intersect…especially when it comes to strengthening our mental health by creating new, positive pathways of thinking! She referenced Romans 12:2, in which Paul writes, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This mirrors what science calls neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to be reshaped over time. Both point to the same truth, and that is that real change takes intention! It’s an active, ongoing process of examining where we invest our time, our thoughts, and our actions. As we choose to spend time in God’s Word and in prayer, we allow him to renew our minds and shape our lives from the inside out!

Ladies created beautiful fun spring flower canvases instructed by the creatively talented Mrs. Sarah Roberts. It was such an awesome night and we are already looking forward to bringing the paint night back sometime next year!

January’s recap incase we missed you:
First off, we’re so thankful for another great meeting and all the amazing women who filled the room this past Thursday! Watching moms connect, support, and enjoy community together is such a beautiful sight!🤩

We are especially grateful to the S.C.C. P.T.A. Program’s students and staff for their time and intentionality with our mommas. They provided them massages and paraffin hand treatments- what a tangible way to care and show love through service?! THANK YOU!!

Our topic for the night focused around rest. Motherhood, as beautiful as it is, carries a constant, often unseen weight- the physical exhaustion, mental overload, and emotional strain. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus doesn’t ask us to finish everything before coming to Him; he simply invites us to come as we are. His invitation to rest meets us in the middle of it all, not just when we catch up our to do lists.

Biblical rest is more than physical, it is soul-deep renewal found in relationship with Christ. Rest was woven into God’s design from the beginning, not as a reward for productivity, but as a sacred necessity. When we resist rest, we often carry a false sense of control, but choosing to rest becomes an act of trust, declaring that God is still at work even when we stop.

Biblical self-care at its core is not self-centered, but rather God-centered. As temples of the Holy Spirit, caring for our bodies and souls is an act of stewardship, not indulgence. God’s call to slow down is not a rebuke, but a compassionate invitation to lay down burdens we were never meant to carry- made by a loving father.

Rest doesn’t require perfect conditions or long stretches of time. It may come in small, intentional moments- choosing sleep, opening Scripture, whispering a prayer. Rest will look different in every season, but God’s invitation remains the same: come to Him, and let Him be our strength and help carry our weight. Remember “Small moments of surrender can become holy spaces.”

Ladies got to relax with some adult coloring pages which they framed and took home with them to serve as visible reminders to take the time to rest in him!

Thank you all for being part of such a meaningful evening. Our hearts are full, and we’re so grateful for this community! Mark your calendars for our next meeting and watch the page for details- we’ll see you ladies February 19th!
