Last Sunday (August 23rd) was a special day celebrating 166 Years of Faith, Freedom & Mission! 🎉

166 years of the Free Methodist Church USA 🇺🇸

Founded in 1860 through the vision and courage of B.T. Roberts and fellow believers, Free Methodism was born with a commitment to free worship, equality, holiness, and freedom from slavery. From its humble beginnings in New York to a growing movement across the nation and around the world, God has faithfully led the Free Methodist Church through generations of ministry and mission.

166 years later, the mission continues: to love God, love people, and make disciples who transform the world 🌍 🙏🏼❤️

In true Somerset Free Methodist fashion we celebrated properly with a birthday cake 😋
If you haven’t visited us yet for our Sunday 10am service you really are missing out! The coffee is never cold, no one’s a stranger and the treats are always sweet!

Meet Marion! She recently celebrated her 93rd birthday with us and of course there was cake 😋 🎂

A few fun facts about Marion!

She was raised Methodist up north and has been attending SFM for about 3 years.

She chose to follow Christ when she was just 9yrs old with the help of her older brother who’s 98 & doing great!

Why she loves attending SFM is because
“I love the openness, lots of love that floats”

Her advice for a new or curious follower of Christ is to “Love the lord, he’s done so much for you, and associate with other Christians”

Thank you Marion for your words of wisdom & being apart of our SFM family 🤍
