Dear Mission Point Family,
It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I share with you the news of the passing of our beloved brother, Dan Adamski—known to so many of us, young and old, simply and affectionately as “Mr. Dan.” Dan walked into glory and into the presence of our Lord on Thursday, April 17.
For over 20 years, Dan faithfully served in our children’s ministry, pouring his heart and the Word of God into the lives of our kids. He wanted more than anything for our kids to know and follow Jesus, and was willing to do whatever it took. Whether that was going to camp, teaching, leading small groups or allowing kids to sq**rt mustard or ketchup on him. Dan had a genuine passion for kids. If you’ve ever seen the sparkle in a child’s eyes when they talked about Mr. Dan, you know how deeply he was loved. He made a lasting impression on an entire generation of Mission Point kids leaving a legacy that will go far beyond his life time.
Dan also served as a deacon and was a constant, steady presence in the life of our church. His servant’s heart was evident in everything he did—whether it was visiting someone in need, quietly praying for others, or showing up early to help however he could. He was also a skilled carpenter, and many of the physical touches around our building bear the mark of his craftsmanship—including the beautiful cross that stands in our sanctuary, built by his own hands. What a fitting reminder of both his faith and his faithful service.
Dan loved Jesus, he loved this church, and he loved people. While we grieve the loss of his presence here, we celebrate his homegoing and the eternal life he now enjoys in the presence of his Savior. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Please join us as we honor Dan’s life at his Celebration of Life Service, which will be held here at Mission Point on Saturday, May 3rd. Visitation will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, followed by the service from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. I encourage you to come, to share your memories, to comfort one another, and to give thanks to God for the gift Dan was to all of us.
As we grieve together, let us also surround Dan’s family with love. Please remember to lift up Kathy, their children, and grandchildren in prayer in the coming days. Let us be intentional in caring for them, checking in, and walking alongside them in both their sorrow and their healing. They have been part of the very fabric of this church, and now is our time to be the church for them.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). May His presence be especially near to all who mourn, and may His peace be upon us all.
With love and sorrow,
Pastor Rich Aspenberg
