Corpus Christi: Christ’s Lasting Gift
On the Feast of Corpus Christi, we celebrate one of the greatest gifts Jesus left for His Church—the Holy Eucharist. As He prepared to leave His disciples and return to the Father, Jesus did not leave them alone. His parting gift was not merely a memory, a teaching, or a symbol. He gave them Himself.
In the Eucharist, Jesus is truly and really present. The Eucharist contains His whole self: His divinity and humanity, His birth in Bethlehem, His hidden years in Nazareth, His preaching, His miracles, His suffering, His persecution, His death on the cross, His resurrection, and His glory. Everything that Jesus is and everything He accomplished for our salvation is present in this sacred gift.
Unlike ordinary gifts that wear out or are forgotten, the Eucharist is a gift that endures forever. For more than two thousand years, Christ has remained with His people in every generation, fulfilling His promise: “I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
As we celebrate Corpus Christi, we are invited to ask ourselves a challenging question: What will be my lasting gift to the world? What part of my life, my faith, my love, and my service will remain as a blessing for others? Jesus gave Himself completely. He teaches us that the greatest legacy we can leave is not wealth or achievements, but a life poured out in love for God and for others.
May our devotion to the Eucharist deepen our faith in the Real Presence of Christ and inspire us to become gifts for one another. As we receive Jesus in Holy Communion, may we learn to live as He lived—giving ourselves generously, lovingly, and faithfully for the life of the world.

Rosary for Vocations and the Sick is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at 1:00. All are welcome.
Divine Mercy Chaplet

Gospel Choir Coming to OMSI July 19.
The Gospel Choir from St. Lawrence of Brindisi in Watts will be singing at the 8:00 and 9:30 Masses on Sunday July 19. Mark it on your calendar.
