Lahaska United Methodist Church

Lahaska United Methodist Church Pastor Steve McComas Peter led the class meeting until 1851; then Rev. Malcolm H. Sisty led the group. At that time Rev.

Peter and Mary Johnson lived at the corner of Street Road and Route 263 and opened their home to the people of the community to begin a Methodist class meeting. Sisty led efforts to erect a stone church building on the Solebury side of Street Road at the cost of $1,000. The land was purchased and the church was built in 1853. Thus began a ministry to serve Christ and the people of Lahaska. The Lah

aska United Methodist Church is a people. We are a people seeking to live a life of the Gospel. As we understand the Gospel, Jesus calls us to love one another, and to work together in community for support, peace and health. In a society that seeks to be self-absorbed, we seek to break through that cultural attitude by assisting others to be their best self. This is a
continuing journey beginning in childhood, and so we seek to assist children with learning and growing in the love of Jesus, and invite you to
join us with your children.
