It’s been a little while since we last posted—but a new year has a way of bringing fresh energy, new ideas, and renewed hope.

As we step into this year, we’re looking ahead with optimism and purpose. New projects are taking shape, plans are being revisited, and the vision for the revitalization project continues to grow. This work is about honoring the past, caring for the present, and ensuring a respectful, well-kept space for generations to come.

We’re grateful for the continued support, patience, and encouragement from the community. There’s more to come, and we’re excited to share progress along the way.

Community Update:
I’ve been made aware of a recently fallen tombstone. I’ll be checking on the situation soon and will work to have it repaired or restored as quickly as possible. We truly appreciate your patience and care for our cemetery—it’s our shared history, and I’m committed to keeping it well-maintained.

A sincere thank you to Scouting America Troop 333 of Sunbury, PA and to Mr. Ned Swank for your time, energy, and dedication to the ongoing community service efforts at St. John’s Cemetery.

Mr. Swank, your role as liaison between the Scouts and myself has been nothing short of invaluable thank you for helping bring this project to life. While there’s still work ahead, there’s no denying that progress has been made, and your leadership has helped lay the foundation for what’s to come.

Some big news to share a member of the former
St John’s Lutheran Church has been in touch and his new congregation has a very active scout troop that is planning to do some community service work at the cemetery.

Great News ! Tree clean up is underway this morning before the rain.

Please use caution when visiting the cemetery two larger locust trees have fallen towards the bottom section ( no damage to memorials ). Arrangements have been made for them to be cleaned up but this work is several weeks out . (Pending no weather delays) Thank you.

FYI , I’m hoping the grass will be mowed this week it’s a little shaggy due to the hot weather and wet conditions it’s growing like crazy .

The moment has arrived happy to report the leaning grave stones have been reset and are sitting straight again.

After what seems like a long summer of waiting the time has finally arrived repairs to the stones should be repaired during the week of thanksgiving .
